Re: ??? Weekly Check-in ???

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? They turned 9 months this week. Smile
    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? I posted about it before, but Will has started pulling up on things, even though he's not "proper" crawling (and I suspect Dash isn't far behind). I'm curious if they'll be the more unusual kids who go from army crawling to walking without really bothering with the between step.
    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? The day after tomorrow. It's related to the tongue tie issue... We saw the speech therapist last week, who said that Will's tie almost certainly needs to be snipped and a specialist may want Dash's done as well. She said they're actually doing astoundingly well at eating (especially Will) considering how restrictive the ties are. I'm SO relieved she said this - doctors have been telling me over and over that nothing is wrong, but my gut instinct was saying otherwise. So it's nice to have a professional agree with me! Anyway, we can't get into the tongue tie clinic without a referral from our GP, so we're seeing him this week. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long to get an appointment at the clinic and that they're willing to snip the ties (especially because I found out that the private surgeon we were planning on hiring won't do it after 6 months, so if the clinic wants to wait and see, then we're SOL).
    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? Hmm. Actually, this week has been pretty easy lol! Probably the stress from all the uncertainty about the tongue ties. I really just want to get them snipped - and I have to admit I'm beating myself up a little for not INSISTING on seeing a speech therapist about it before now. I know it's not really my fault, but I kinda feel like if I'd pushed harder, maybe we could have gotten it fixed ages ago, and now I'm worrying that the clinic won't want to snip them and then we'll be screwed until they're 5 years old and have speech difficulties. Sad
    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)? It used to be every Tuesday, and then my work schedule changed and I'm at work that day. So now I'm going for every Sunday, but I'm not remembering as well as I should because I'm still not used to it being the regular day. Sad
    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids? n/a - it's in their formula, but that's it(7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy? You know, I never really got the massive nesting urge. I kept waiting for it, but it never happened. I wanted to get all their stuff ready, but it wasn't any more of an urgent feeling than when I want to get any other project finished. I left work at 29 weeks - at that point I was measuring over 40 weeks,my blood pressure was starting to rise, and my doctor told me no more.  I read a LOT - tons and tons and tons of books! I was home for 9 weeks before the boys were born and I wanted to read as much as I could because I knew I wouldn't get the chance for a while after they arrived.

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 6 months! (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Nothing really too exciting.  His doctor told me to start giving him more solids/start finger foods, since he's such a big boy, and has quite the appetite.  I'm excited for that! (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? We just went to the doctor yesterday.  He's 19 pounds, 15 ounces (1 ounce shy of 20!), and 28 inches.  Yikes!  Even his 9 month clothes are getting small now, and I've busted out the 12-month things on occasion.  And he's just barely 6 months old!
I was happy that when he got shots yesterday, he didn't even really cry this time, just a short whimper, then back to playing with Sophie....such a tough guy! (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? We had our first sick day last Thursday.  A tummy bug has been going around his daycare, and when he woke up on Thursday morning with diarrhea soaked through his jammies, sleepsack, and sheets, I though it best to keep him home.  He was fine, though, and despite several other bouts of poopies that day (and a few other times last week), he was a smiley as ever.  I have to admit, I had a great day that day!  Embarrassed  He napped a lot, and I relaxed, cleaned my desk, cooked, and watched TV....things I never get to do anymore!  I felt guilty, since I never take sick days for myself unless I'm really, really sick.  It was strange to stay home from work and basically play all day while he slept!
    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)? Not anything regular, but we take pictures of him probably at least 3 days a week....we're photo-holics! (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids? Nope.  Though it is in his cereal. (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?  I worked on my massive "circle" project for the nursery in the beginning (sanding, painting, then hanging the circles as a border around his room).  This took several weekends, and satisfied my nesting urge for a while. I did have off work 7 weeks before he was born, but not by choice.  I'm a teacher, and school was out the first week of June, but he wasn't born until July 22nd.  I did go a little stir-crazy, but I tried to keep busy by cooking/freezing a lot of food (I made MH buy a chest freezer!) and walking at least once a day, sometimes twice.  But yes, I did go a little nutty.  It was nice being off, but I think 4 weeks would have been more than sufficient instead of 7.  I probably shopped more than I needed to!  Stick out tongue

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?  4.5 months

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?  Feeling good...I have definitely adjusted to being back at work, but I really wish I could still be home with Adair.  No new milestones...desparately trying to sit up, but nothing yet.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?  Friday for 4 month checkup/shots, but she has been coughing and sneezing a lot (with a little yellow mucus!) I called the dr. today to see if there is anything I can do to try to clear things up.  She is already behind almost a month with shots so I don't want her to miss, but I also dont' want to give her any shots if she is sick.

    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?  Nothing new...it is a lot more work now that she goes to daycare (having to prep all of the bottles & pumping at work) but nothing too much

    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?  We take a lot of pics, but nothing on a schedule(except for her monthly pics with the stickers)

    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids?  I eat a ton of yogurt so I don't know if that counts!  I am interested to hear everyone's answers.

    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?  I didn't have one...we moved while I was pg so I think I did enough nesting with that.  Adair's room still isn't really put together!  (but her room is essentially our room...if we ever move her into her own room, I will definitely get everything together quickly!

    (8) What other questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?  how often do you have a babysitter? do you follow the same schedule on weekends as you do on weekdays (time baby goes to bed? wakes up?)

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?  30w1d

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?  I have a massive head cold since Saturday, it sucks!  The nose congestion has finally gone away today, but now it's all moved to my chest which means I'm going to get my nasty cough that usually lasts forever.  I did also finally finish painting the nursery and we have all the furniture in.  Now I can finally decorate and organize and I can't WAIT!

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?  I get my last cervical length u/s tomorrow and my bi-monthly appointment is next week.

    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?  Trying to deal with this cold, it's so hard when your PG.  Over the counter stuff rarely works for me.

    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?  I do plan to do this once LO comes to help with my photo project ;)

  • 1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 7.5 months

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? he finally cut his first 2 bottom teeth, crawling all over the place, and pull up.  He get very aggrivated with crawling he can't get to where he wants to go fast enough and starts screaming and trying to pull up to walk.  I guess he is use to his walker and can fly so the slow crawling can make him PO'd

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? 9 mon.

    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? hubby had to work all weekend and the kids stayed gone too so just the 2 of us sat and sun wore me out and re-confirmed to me that I was not made to be a SAHM.  I also didn't realise how much his kids do help with mason.  I love him but he is very needed and demanding and will throw a fit if he is not getting his way and I don't have the patience to deal with that all day.  I see a lot of displine in his future

    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)? at first i was doing one every friday along with the monthly sticker ones but I have got laxed and hardly take photos:(

    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids? he was having some diarahea and dr suggested some and we have given his some but not much

    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy? I just did extra cleaning to make sure everything was extra clean and to make room for his stuff...I wasn't washing walls or anything crazy like that:)  I was actually cleaning the kitchen when my water was leaking but I just kept going until I was done...lol.  I was laid off in my 34th week and he came at 38 weeks so almost a month which was a good amount of time.  I took time to have lunch with friends, get pedicures, run errands, and get last minute things we needed.  I was at target the morning my water broke to pick up nursing tanks and pjs for the hospital

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 11 mo and 1 week
    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? we took J to a basketball game - he was traumatized by the cheerleaders. haha.  They came to visit him to do a fan shot for the big screen and he almost started to cry and then stared at them for 10 mins like they might come back to attack.  So they put him on the big screen all by himself clapping.
    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? nope.   probably should make a 1 yr. appt.
    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? DH has been working crazy hours so it's pretty much just me taking care of J.  It's sad b/c anytime our house creaks or J hears a noise he races over to the back door thinking it's DH.
    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)? I take a diaper shot each month on the 19th.
    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids? yep, started pretty much from day one.  Just mixed 1/4t (or less when he was small) with breast milk and gave it to him by syringe or finger fed and then when he got older by bottle or small cup.  We like Udo's Choice Infant powder.  When I forgot or we ran out I noticed a difference - J spit up more and seemed more gassy.  Once DH left it out of the fridge for a whole day but didn't tell me which basically kills the bacteria and I noticed a difference then too and couldn't figure it out.  I got a new bottle and poof, happy baby was back.  Sooo, I do think it really helped J :)(7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy? didn't nest.  I did want a clean house though so we hired someone to clean and got lots of help.  In my defense, I wasn't being lazy, I was dx'd with pre-eclampsia and had to go on bed rest in order to put off an induction.  I had planned to work until delivery - knowing my work could be flexible about "work from home."  After pre-E tests came back I was told not to go back.  Employer said I could just check e-mails to transition and not count mat. leave until my due date.  Worked well b/c he was born 4 days before EDD so I got a full 12 week leave as protected by FMLA.  I had to lay on my side so I just watched a lot of TV and read books.  (and checked email/played online).  I also had to go to the MW office every other day and check my BP at home every day.

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?

    Ryan is 10.5 months old

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

Ryan was sleeping from 7:30 to 7:30 straight for months but he has been waking up once a night now. Hoping he goes back!  He has been standing/balancing for a few seconds at a time now for a few weeks. Walking is coming soon we think. Ryan is now the sweetest, easy to take care of baby ever. It's hard to believe that this is the same baby when I think of those first four months.

    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?

He will not poop unless he's by himself. Then when I put him down for a nap he'll poop. He stares at me like crazy when I go to change a poopy diaper, like I'm going to be mad or something? I now have been trying to act very happy when I see his poop because I don't want him feeling ashamed like that. Also he will scream bloody freakin murder if we try to change him when we are out and about. Really, people came in the rest room because they thought he was hurt!

    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?

No but I should. There have been weeks with no photos and then there are a hundred in just a few days time.

    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?

I was off for 10 weeks before Ryan came. People said I would bored but I wasn't at all. I had 2-3 doctors apps a week, slept a lot, organized, shopped, spent time with friends, read books and watched TV, something I usually never ever do.

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?  about 2.5 months
    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? feeling pretty good.  once i found out i could wake him to eat - which seriously, never occurred to me that i'd want to do so! - we've been doing EASY, which is great!  it makes it SO much easier to get out of the house and do things.
    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?  friday, follow-up appt with his surgeon.  then nothing until 4 months
    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?  spitting up, again.  Stick out tongue i'm convinced it's a food intolerance.  i went back to eating dairy, and his spit up got progressively worse until saturday, when it just went crazy.  and his poop is mucous-y (which is definitely a sign, based on what i've read), and his face has a little rash/red bumps (which may or may not be related), so i'm going dairy-free again.  sigh.  oh, and he's been super gassy (which wakes him up at night), so i'm going to try to find some coliccalm, or just regular gripe water.  could also be related to the food intolerance.
    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)? onesie sticker shot each month on the 9th.
    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids? yep, based on mauiwedding's recommendation, we also use Udo's Choice for Infants.  honestly, I'm not sure I notice a difference, but I figure it can't hurt!  we're doing once/day right now, but I think i'm going to up it to 2x/day for a few days.  i mix 1/4 tsp in about 1/2 oz of bm and give him a little bottle before feeding.  though I suppose I should try a syringe - less washing that way!(7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy? didn't really have a nesting instinct.  his room still isn't finished!  the walls are bare - we have a painting and some wall decals that we need to put up.  i had 2 weeks off before my due date, but went into labor early morning on day 2.

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?

    ~8.25mo

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

I'm feeling well...but B got another cold =( How many strains of colds are going around these days?!?

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

    9mo

    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?

Naps, still. He's still struggling against it every time and is getting only about 1hr of naps total max during the day =/ I don't think it helps him get over his cold =(

    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?

I couldn't really stay consistent to a set schedule--but I still take pictures or videos of him very often (at least once a week, just not at a certain time/day of the week) and I'm starting to take more videos now since I feel like it's more "memorable" to experience certain moments vs looking at a still moment of it.

    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids?

    n/a

    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?

I had a month off. Things I did:
    - got baby stuff set up, which was a challenge since we were in a tiny 1-br at the time.
    - did baby laundry, shopped (my baby showers were a month before my due date so I didn't buy things until after that)
    - learned how to crochet and made a hat for B
    - bought snacks and packed for l&d
    - made lists of what to do the day of and after so I don't forget
    - found a pedi, added # to phone to call after I deliver
    - figured out/set our budget to come
    - prepared as much of my disability forms/hospital forms/other logistics ahead of time
    - designed and had my template for the baby announcements ready to go, and the envelopes made, addressed, and stamped
    - borrowed and read books on l&d/methods ie. Lamaze/Bradley and watched a DVD on it (since we didn't take l&d classes)

We also had a lot of stuff in bins from our move (we moved during my 3nd tri) so I unpacked it all and cleaned/vacuumed the house two days before I delivered (I got the whole nesting frenzy thing before delivering). I also cleaned the turtle tank and I think I gave our two (large) dogs a bath too? I don't quite remember if I did that while I was pg or shortly after I delivered =P but I think that about summed up my month off in a nutshell!

ETA: Oh, and we took our own maternity pictures too! It was funny because we kept on putting it off since I never really felt in the mood to do it, and then this one day, I was like we gotta do it today! Good thing, because I went into labor that day!

I am not sure if this is the case with Robin's situation, but my friend was laid off on her last day of work before maternity leave & it was legal since her company had filed for bankruptcy.  In the end, it worked out way better for her...hope for you too, Robin!

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?  27w 1d

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Still feeling pretty good. No news continues to be good news. My first shower is this Saturday. Looking forward to going home and seeing friends and family.

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? I have an appointment next week and US the week after that.

    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? I'm having trouble making decisions regarding nursery design, and I need to get on it.

    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?  I'm hoping my DH will take the lead on this one. I have no photography skills, and he just got a new fancy camera for Christmas with baby in mind.

    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy? I've had nesting urges since early in the pregnancy. My house is spotless--I can't clean enough. I want to get the darn nursery done, but I need to actually make some decisions. I'm planning to work right up to my due date.

This is dopey, but for some reason when I read this I thought you meant you found the number of a place to get a pedicure and were going to call them (to make an appointment) after delivery. I was like, "Hot damn, now THERE'S a woman who's committed to her beauty routine!"

Then I realized you meant a pediatrician. Embarrassed

LOL!! yeah...no...in fact, I'm quite the opposite...the only mani/pedi I've ever gotten in my life was for my wedding! Maybe that's why I didn't think twice when I wrote that! haha

    One year old yesterday!

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

Been feeling a mix of melancholy and elation...I blogged about it here. Milestones...Libby walked on her own, unassisted last night!

    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

12 month pedi next month and 1 year old/smash cake photo shoot.

    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?

Wakefulness and sore nipples (her teeth have dug into them and they have cracked...the pain has felt like I am nursing a newborn again!)

    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?

No set day, just every few days. We leave the camera in the living room and just snap pics whenever. I do try to snap pics on Sundays, if I can remember. And we do the monthly onesie snaps too.

    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids?

    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?

I had a week off before she was born and it was nice to putz around, finish up DIY projects for the nursery, sleep, have a date night, etc. Next time, I want to go out at 37-38 weeks. My body was ready for the rest!

    (8) What other questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?

Anyone planning on extended breastfeeding? If so, how long? What will your nursing "routine" be?

What activities are you doing with your toddlers?

TTCers:  Which cycle are you on?  Where in the cycle are you?  What, if anything, are you doing/trying for TTC success?

Charting my first PP AF...waiting for the next one...it's crazy to think that I plan to be pregnant this year! Yowza!

we are a small company and don't qualify for FMLA, but it was better for me so I could draw some unemployment instead of getting nothing.

I'm glad it worked out for you.

I did want to throw a few things out there re: the laws as I interpret them since there was some mention of it...(these are broad statements - not meant to be legal adviceSmile)

FMLA - pertains to the leave you take for illness (your own or a close family member) or the birth/adoption of a child.  Applies to business with 50+ employees.  Employer must hold your job and pay your health insurance at your normal rate.

Pregnancy Discrimination Act is an amendment to the Civil Rights Act.  This applies to businesses with 15+ employees and covers instances of discrimination (hiring, firing, etc).  But it's often difficult to prove the pregnancy was the reason for the discrimination.  But if this happens you may want to consult an attorney and possibly file with the EEOC.

And now I have a question of my own - for those of you that took disability leave AND maintained your full 12 weeks FMLA (if it applied) - how did that work?  Does your state have additional protections... or was it your employer's policy?  Because here (use fed law) I think you only get 12 weeks FMLA total - if that means you had to use 6 for pregnancy related disability then that falls under the illness section and then you would have 6 unused weeks (w/in a 52 week period) that you could use to spend with your baby.  I'm just talking about protected leave - not paid benefits....  Just curious or wondering if I'm not reading the right laws....

I think I answered it - and it does come down to State laws (which don't apply where I work, so that is prob. why I was confused).  In both CA and WA (2 states I used for examples) there are State family leave acts that offer additional time off.  In WA you can be written out be a health care provider for a pregnancy related health issue (up to 12 additional weeks - depended upon your HCP's opinion) and that would run separately but can't run concurrently .  I think - I didn't spend too much time reading..

    Interesting!

    LOL!

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?7.5 months (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? A little overwhlemed with work, keeping the house clean, being a mom/wife and trying to keep up social life. I just a few extra hours a day. I've been watching him like a hawk because he fell off the bed last week :(  3. He is just getting over his first cold...poor baby!(5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?I have been taking pictures of him everyday since he was born. I might have missed a day or 2 though. I also do the monthly sticker pics (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids?no, but i take it once in a while (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?I worked until the day of. but did have a lot of "office days" at home :) I just got everything ready...not much since we knew he will be in our room. Washed some of his clothes, car seat covers, swing covers, etc. Spent a lot of time online buying baby things :) (8) What other questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?

have you tried just leaving him there and seeing what happens? that's what we do and eventually she will lay down and go sleep :) average of 15 min but sometimes as long as an hour! if she isn't crying i just let her hang out... i figure even if she isn't sleeping it's good "rest" since she isn't being stimulated by anything (actively at least)

  • (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?she's about 14.5 months old now
    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?we've officially transitioned to 1 nap/day.  she gets fairly tired late morning but not cranky or anything and now goes down for her nap between 1-2pm. she's still only napping about 2 hrs though, occasionally 3, so i hope she starts taking longer napsshe will now wipe her hands together when i say "wash your hands" - unfortunately she mostly only does this with the play sink, but won't do it under running water yet LOL she will roll a ball to me on the floor and we pass it back and forthshe can stack cups togetherher vocabulary keeps growing! new words - bear, up, grrrrrr (when you ask her what a bear says), rooooooar (when you ask her what a lion says), cow/pig/sheep in Vietnamese, and the most important word this week - POO POO!!!! so excited b/c she now tells us when she needs to poop! I wasn't sure if it was just a fluke on Sunday but every day since then she has been doing it. i am thrilled to have fewer poopy diapers to deal w/now (though really we only had about 2 per month for the last 6 months anyway)
    (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?just set her 15 month appt for Feb 21
    (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?I can't really think of anything right now!
    (5) Do you take regular photos of your LO (in the sense of an actual schedule - like every Sunday, or the first of the month, etc.)?I'm like Julie... i take lots but not on any schedule...sometimes we'll go a few wks w/o any and then i'll have several days in a row where i take a million! We do have the monthly pics w/the sticky picky though :)
    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids?I did not but when we had thrush the ob said I could just take probiotics and it would pass into the BM
    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?I don't think I had a big nesting instinct like some mothers do.  i'm a Type A personality so I did get everything organized on the changing table, in her dresser, etc but that was about it.  i did not go crazy cleaning or organizing I had planned to work right up until the end but scheduling didn't work out that way and I had about a week off before she was born.  didn't do much except rest up/sleep and relax and get antsy about her arrival :)

I was wondering what happens if you just leave him there as well. Will has taken to doing the same thing lately, but I just leave him there. After 10-15 min, he gets bored (especially if Dash has already gone to sleep so there's no one to "talk" to) and lays back down. I just call it rest time vs nap time. Stick out tongue

Ryan has times when he does this too and like Jamie, we leave him there if he is not crying etc. Even if he doesn't fall asleep, the "Rest" times like you said seem to help him not be so uncoordinated and less grumpy.

He's really cute actually. He doesn't cry but will stand there holding on and just hanging out. Sometimes he will walk back and forth while holding on to the rails. Its kinda scary because I don't want him to hit his chin on the crib if he gets too excited and lets go too fast.

    (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

feeling much better than last week now that i've been nesting & resting. had a nst done this afternoon to monitor my contractions. they were small and irregular, so the dr. wasn't as worried but wants to me to make sure i pay attention since that can make cervix to thin out? or something like that.

just had the last of my 2 week appts. i start my weekly appts. next week.

    (6) Anyone give their LO probiotics? Is it possible to give probiotics before giving solids?

    (7) What did you do during your nesting period (if you had one)? How much time did you take off before baby and how did you manage to not be stir crazy?

I did the exact same thing!  I had a list (anything from wash and fold baby clothes and pack hospital bag, to get a pedicure and oil change for car).  Every day had at least one "assignment."  :)
