Bloody Show?

So early this morning (5:30am)  I was on my 100th bathroom run and the TP (which I obsessively check lol) was a little pink.  I looked in the toilet and there was a small spot of red in the bottom.  All morning long I have continued to get pink TP, red in the toilet, and blood on my pad.  I started to get worried until finally there was some mucussyness in the toilet too around 10:30.  Is this bloody show?  How long does this go on?  Its been a few hours now.

  • Sounds like it, or the mucus plug can sometimes have blood in it. I would call the DR. just to make sure it wasn't something to worry about though.

  • If there is red blood I would call your OB. I am actually planning to call at the first sign of ANY color blood, but I am sure most people will say pink is normal. It has something to do with the capillaries bursting in your cervix and preparing for labor. But my doctor specifically told me to call if there is red blood.
  • Well, when I see my MP in the toilet/toilet paper, I see brown blood. The pink/reddish bits are probably from you dilating.

  • I had pink TP all day Thursday, called my Dr and she said that if I started cramping or if it changed to red/alot of blood to go to the hospital. She also told me to take it easy for the rest of the day. Yesterday, nothing. I'm making sure not to overdo anything now though (I had done alot of cleaning and moving furniture on Wed), just in case. I don't want to start ptl.
  • most likely is, however, anytime you see red blood you want to call your dr. because there are lots of causes for red blood besides bloody show.  I remember with my daughter I lost my plug and had lots of red blood so they just checked to make sure that was all it was.  I am sure it probably is, but definitely just call.  It also gives them a heads up that you are in that stage of progression.
