Success after IF

Which way do you hang your toilet paper?

Settle the debate for me.  I don't give a care which direction the stuff unrolls as long as someone remembers to put a roll up there when its predecessor runs out.

DH (who rarely remembers to replace a roll) does care, and spent the better part of 30 minutes the other day explaining to me why I should care too.

And still, I don't.  Should I?

Re: Which way do you hang your toilet paper?

  • I always tell people "live with your s/o before you get married to find out which way they hang the toilet paper roll" because my DH is SO particular about it.  I don't care, but it MUST be over for him.  UGH

  • He's an over guy too.  Honestly.  We lived together for FIVE years before we got married and I never knew this was something he was so passionate about.  How he waited 10 years to voice his opinion I'll never know ;-)

I am trying my best to indulge him, but seriously.  Is this something that should take up any space in my brain at all?

  • The right way, duh. Over is the only way to goWink

Really it drives me up the wall when DH puts it under, I have to change it.  I hate it at work when they put it on *wrong*Stick out tongue and I can't fix it!

Sorry, I'm pretty sure I did not help  you but, I'm weird like thatBig Smile

  • "load away from user" is my moto!
  • My point to him was.  I don't care.  No amount of you telling me that "over" is the "right" way is going to make me care.

If it really means so much to you.  Change the roll once in awhile so it is "right".  Or switch it if you notice I've done it "wrong".

Geesh man, I buy the tp, and make sure we're all stocked up on the stuff, even store a bunch under the sink so it is in reach when needed.  Is changing a roll really too much of me to ask of you, especially when you're the only one who cares which direction it should go? ;-)

  • Neither of us cares too much, thankfully!

I grew up with it under, but I realized when I moved out on my own that I prefer it over, and we stick with over. :)  I switch it if he puts in on the other way, but it's very low on my pet peeve list.

What annoyed before we got married was that in DH's apartment the TP holder was too small such that for the first half of the roll it wouldn't turn.  I HATED that! ;)

    ADORABLE siggy, Steph! :)

  • Thanks alchris!  I happen to think yours is super duper ADORABLE!  She's growing fast!  So cute!

The common thread here with the over ladies is that if they notice it's under they switch it instead of complaining about it.  Exactly what I'm suggesting to my dh!

Thank you!  I took SO many photos between weeks 4 and 5.5...more will be appearing in my siggy soon! :)

And yes, she's huge -- she's 12 lbs whereas Kira was just 8 lbs at the same age!

This.  Fortunately DH prefers it that way, too, but his mom ALWAYS puts it on the other way.  When we stay at her house, I switch it in the guest bathroom the first time I'm in there. Stick out tongue

  • I prefer it over, if Dh hangs it under I switch it.  He hangs it both ways I don't think he even pays attention to which way it hangs?
