It's too late though.
Everyone in the nicu has said that when babies figure out how to eat, it's like someone flips a light switch. Well, TLF's light came on yesterday. He has taken every feed since noon yesterday. When I fed him last night, I almost didn't recognize him. He was wide awake and when I gave him a bottle after we breastfed, he sucked it down almost instantly.
His feeding tube is out. The doctor on today told us to bring our carseat in tonight and call our pediatrician this morning because if he keeps this up, he could go home on Monday.
OMFG. Oh, I hope he keeps this up. I also hope his neonatologist from our practice agrees with this plan.
