February 2011 Moms

was supposed to have my c/s today. was breech. (any 2+ moms experience???)

I was supposed to have my c/s today at noon. They did a quickie u/s beforehand just to make sure he was still heads up and, of course, he has flipped. This makes me happy because I was worried about future pregnancies and having multiple c/s and trying to VBAC. Yet, I was disappointed because I've prepared myself for today and my husband flew in from Japan last night.

My question is though...Anyone go into labor shortly after baby flipping?? I am now having some cramping or maybe contractions.  Im not sure which because I don't know what contractions really feel like being a first time mom. I am pretty sure I just peed and lost some MP. I've been going #2 more regularly and more often the past week or so..

Am I starting labor now? The fact that my H and I have been making up for 4.5 months of not seeing each other mayyyy be helping (if ya know what I mean Wink) And I do have to add that it's not better for me being pregnant. I thought it would be better, but its a little painful.

Just looking for some advice or insight or anything that may help really...

  • sorry to tell you but until you are having regular painful contractions you aren't in labor.  Your body might be preparing but it is anyone's guess when you actually will go into labor.  This baby has been engaged since 36 weeks and I have been going to the bathroom more and having cramping for a while and I am not dilated.  I didn't give birth to my daughter until 41 weeks 3 days.  It is just a wait and see game.  Hopefully the baby will come sooner rather than later, and I am glad that the baby flipped for you.

  • My baby is breech right now, which is ok cause I"m a repeat c-section.  But I asked my dr if you have less of a chance progressing and going into labor when they are breech and she said yes.  So hopefully now that the baby is head down and pushing on your cervix you will get some progression :)  Good luck!
