Q regarding schools and power lines

Would you send your child to a school with a high voltage power line a few hundred feet from the building?  I would otherwise be very happy sending our children there but the power line makes me a little nervous.

It's a few hundred feet away on land and then pretty high up (there's a tower), but I'm not sure on the exact distance.

Yes I would send them, it is a few hundred feet away.

    What exactly is your concern?

I know there is an urban-legend-y thing about high voltage power lines causing cancer.  Google it and you'll see several articles refuting this.  No connection between cancer and high voltage power lines near homes/schools has ever been proven.

As PP said, there's some pretty good research refuting any adverse health issues caused by transmission lines.  I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I work in the environmental field - and lately, specifically on permitting transmission lines.  I'm pretty confident in that my kid would be ok :)
