Just wondering, I know some doctors recommend it when you are pregnant, just wondered if anyones doc rec'd it while ttc? Or do you take it just in case?

I took it while I was pregnant. I also took some of my left over ones last cycle before they expired. I dont think i'll take them again until I get my BFP.

I was taking DHA when I was pregnant but stopped the day I had my D&C. I unfortunately bought 3 boxes (1 month each box) early on in my pregnancy so they are just sitting in my cabinet.. know that I think about it I need to hide them becuase out of sight / out of mind. I am planning to take them again once I get my BFP.

I've been taking fish oil pills since long before I was TTC. I've read that omega-3s can help with depression and I don't see a downside (besides cost) - I take the "fish-burp free" kind from Natures made.
This! As well, omega-3s help with overall cognitive ability and brain function for you as well as a baby, so it does your body good too! I've also been taking them for a long time pre-BFP.
I buy the CVS brand of pre-natals that come with the DHA already (two pills). If you catch it on the BOGO sale for vitamins it makes the combo only $6.50 for a month's supply!

Yeah I wanted to take the kind that have DHA in them but I can't take regular PNV's b/c of all the iron. Hmmm guess I'll have to look around, I've been thinking about taking some Omegas anyways just because I doubt I get what I need from my diet, thanks for all the responses ladies!

My doctor told me to take DHA with my prenatal with my first pregnancy. After my loss, I stopped for a while.
I started taking Omega 3 Complex vitamins shortly after because we found out my good cholesterol was really low.
Then at the start of the new year, my dr wanted me to start up on my prenatals again as a preemptive move towards TTC after our wedding in May, so I've been back to taking the DHA pill as well as my regular prenatal.
CVS makes a really good prenatal vitamin that has great amounts of everything and it comes with a bottle of DHA. They are small red gel capsules.
