I am frustrated with this and find myself starting to lose my patience every now and then. DD will not entertain herself for even a minute forget 10-15. Playmate, swing, crib, jumper - nothing works - if I leave her for a minute to go to the bathroom, switch laundry etc. she screams until I come back - she isn't even content on the playmat with me sitting right next to her but on the computer/paying bills etc. I don't want to leave her for long bouts but it would be nice to have her chill on the bed while I folded laundry or hang out in her swing while I heated dinner up. And she only sleeps on me or dh usually. No solution unless I am willing to let her cry - just venting and wondering if this is normal?

Re: Anyone have a 6 month old that will not be put down at all?

I have two one-year olds that are like that:( I hate that I have to listen to screaming if I need to pee.
There is some good advice about it in the No Cry Sleep Solution that I've found helpful. For instance, reassuring them that you are coming back, talking loud enough that when you leave the room they can still hear you from the other room, singing or whistling while you walk out of the room.
Also, and I feel bad admitting this (and it may not be helpful at 6 months old), in our house Sesame Street is the best distraction. Put them in their chairs, give them a cracker, and let them watch:)
Elizabeth never really seemed to like being worn beyond the Moby and only when she was still pretty tiny, but have you tried any wraps, slings, carriers, etc.?
I know friends who could only get things done while wearing their babies, either on front or on back, which allowed them to have hands free to change laundry, heat dinner, etc. It might be worth a shot!
