What do you put in the mesh feeder?

DS has just started solids, and I've got a couple of mesh feeders but I have NO idea what to do with them!

When you first started giving LO solids, what kinds of stuff did you put in it to start with?

apples, pears, banana (but it it hard to clean it up afterwards)

Pears, blueberries, and banana so far. Banana is messy though! lol Blueberries were a big hit with our DD

I never liked that thing as well as I thought I would. But DS liked it when I put ice cubes in it.

Ice cubes or crushed ice for teething. It was all that made DD happy when she was this age and it is working for DS too. Also...no sticky mess to clean up

I use it more as a teether for Mathieu. I bought a bunch of canned fruit (low sugar) and froze them in ziploc bags. Then break the fruit apart and viola a good tasting teether lol.

I have never used one but my friend used one for her son the other day and put cantalope in it (he is older than my DD - probably around 9 months) she also puts watermelon in it
