I've had a feeling all along that she's going to arrive a little early. Earlier this week I lost my mucus plug (sorry, TMI), which happened with Henry just a few days before I went into labor. I had my 37 week appointment today and I'm 2.5 centimeters dilated 60% effaced and the doc says she's "engaged". I know none of this means labor is imminent, but it's certainly a lot more progress than I had with Henry at this point.
I'm certainly not in any hurry, as I know it's still early, but I can't help but wonder if we're going to meet her soon! My husband is convinced she's coming in the next week or so.
Re: maybe my baby girl is coming early??
Wow! Time flies! I've said this many times on this board but I am so envious of women who can make progress so effortlessly! I thought I was in transition when I was only 1.5cm and 90% effaced! Oh, what a wimp I am.
I hope you get to meet her soon!
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
I'm sorry...how the heck are you almost 37 weeks already? Good grief!
I had an appt. on a Thurs. and I wasn't dilated, K hadn't dropped, and my cervix was so high the OB could barely reach it. Then my water broke on Saturday. You just never know.

Exciting stuff!!!
THis is kinda what happened to me with Henry. Appt on Fri and OB said, "You're a tad dilated...I'll give you a centimeter, but that's being generous." Water broke on Sunday. You're right...it's all speculation. My mom walked around 5cm dilated for 3 weeks before they finally induced her at 43 weeks.
I can't imagine being 5cm for 3 weeks, considering I was begging for an epi at 2cm. And then they made her wait until 43 weeks!? The body is so strange sometimes!
My mom also swears that with four kids she never felt a contraction (and delivered all four of us without meds) and this was 1981 when they weren't so induction happy.
I want your mom's pain tolerance!!
Progress is so exciting, isnt it? You're that much closer to meeting her (and that much less that you have to do during labor!).
I have a feeling my little girl is coming this weekend but I told DH that when I'm being induced in 3 weeks for being overdue, we'll look back at this and laugh at how naive we were.

I hope your instincts are better than mine! Reed came a little before my due date so I was convinced that Penny was going to come early too.
I got to the hospital for my induction at 41 weeks 6cm dilated and not in labour! I was really really wrong about her coming early. However, the plus side of being that dilated is that they broke my water to induce me and she came out an hour and a half later!
