Anyone else ALSO counting down to their first glass of wine?!

I just about cried last night when DH said he was going to the store to get us a few bottles of things to "celebrate with" when Anna Elise arrives. After 8 months without a single drop of alcohol, his comment brought tears to my eyes. He bought the good stuff too..he didnt dissapoint me with anything in a box. Party!!! Sooo many happy things to countdown to...

    I'm looking forward to a nice big strawberry margarita! I have a bottle of Sangria here at the house that my boss bought for me... We don't really drink wine, I have no idea what the difference is between wine and Sangria. LOL

     

    But maybe we will open that up after!

    Sangria is normally a mix of wine, juice, and some sort of soda (club soda, sprite).

     I personally can't wait to down a few beers! Not counting days yet, but my due date is March 3rd and my bday is March 21st (and baby will probably be here early), so I'm thinking I will be having a few drinks on my birthday and I'm rather excited about that!

    Umm...is it terrible that I am pretty sure wine and beer will be brought to my room after I deliver the baby? Really I still won't drink probably for another few weeks until I get the hang of breastfeeding but it's humorous to know that people are bringing me alcohol. And I am SO EXCITED!! Big Smile

    I am right there with you ladies!  I was thinking of how nice it will be to get home from the hospital and pop open a bottle of champagne!  Cheers to parenthood and the long road it took to get there!  I think maybe we should pick that champagne up tonight in hopes the LO makes her appearance this weekend!! Smile

    Wine?  Did you say....wine?  Mmmm.  Yes.  I'll be getting just a bit in the hospital.  Where I'm delivering, they offer a steak dinner from one of the city restaurants that comes with two glasses of wine.  =D

    Put me down as a bad pregnant lady, but I have had about the equivalent of two glasses during my pregnancy.  At Thanksgiving I had a 1/4 glass of one of the best pinots I've ever had and nearly cried.  I wanted a full glass so badly! I kept filling up the glasses of my MIL/FIL so I wouldn't be tempted!!  I have so many good bottles just sitting in a closet and I can't wait to get my hands on them.

    Sooooo glad I'm not the only one!!! After reading these, I may ask DH to pack the champagne in his hospital bag. Afterall, there is a fridge in Post delivery for a REASON!

    I can't wait!  I was dusting the wine rack the other day and I noticed two bottles of Door County Chocolate Cherry wine (my absolute favorite!) that weren't there before, so I wonder if DH has been thinking ahead.  It was all I could do not to open a bottle right then and have a glass, but I keep telling myself it will taste so much better the longer I have to wait :)

    I bought myself a bottle of wine last week when I went grocery shopping and it's already chilling in my fridge in anticipation Smile I was so giddy to buy it, I felt like I was turning 21 again.

    LMAO - I thought about packing two mini bottles in the hospital bag!

    My mouth salivates when I hear the word wine! My friends keep saying they are bringing me alcohol right to my delivery room. I laugh it off, but I really hope they aren't kidding!

    me! I miss red wine so much! It was always so nice to come home after a long day of work and have a glass or two.  I cannot wait and after reading this am going to send DH out to get us a few nice bottles to celebrate with!
