I've never gone the temp route and I'm not sure I ever will. I think doing it everyday will drive me more nuts than tracking all the other "signs".
My question is for those of you who do it, do you feel like it helps?
For those who don't, wy don't you do it? Do you think you will ever do it?
Thanks ladies!
(on 2ww now but not feeling so great about a good outcome this month so I'm preparing for next month)
Re: Temping
I started temping 2 months ago and I must say I'm so glad I did. Its really not an inconvenience for me because on weekdays when I work, I just take it at 5:15 before I get out of bed to take a shower. I record my temp on my notes app on my Iphone in case I forget while in the shower. Then, I enter my temp when I come down to make my lunch. On weekends when I'm not working, I still set my alarm for 5:15, take my temp, then go back to bed.
Temping has really helped me confirm when I O because OPKs tell you when you are about to O but they don't tell you when you actually do O.
I think you should try temping. If it really seems too much for you, then stop. But, trying will never hurt!
I have been temping since March of last year when I had a 95 day cycle, it was the only thing that kept me sane otherwise I would constantly be wondering if I ovulated or if I was in the 2ww. I wasted about 15 hpt before I realized I just wasnt ovulating. Things have righted themselves and I still temp every cyle...I feel like it is the only way to know for sure you are in the 2ww.
I agree sometimes it can drive you crazy, but it does give a lot of info about your body/cyle. Good luck!

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled. However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15! Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!
Surprise! Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due. Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

I have temp'd now for 2 cycles and I was worried I'd become obsessed, but I've found the opposite. I get up the same time every weekday, so I just temp as soon as I wake up and then try to forget about it for the rest of the day. I don't usually check CM unless it's obvious and easy. It really helped the first cycle after my m/c as my cycle was longer than normal. I knew that I'd O'd later and so knew AF would be later.
I just find it's easier than tracking all of the other 'signs'.
Temping for me has been pretty easy. Weekdays, I wake up at 5am at the same time my DH does. It takes only a couple of minutes. The only time I have a hard time with temping is when I know my temp that morning is important. For example, if I'm waiting for CHs after O and at the end of the 2ww (plummeting temps means AF is on the way for me). I might wake up a few times that night and start stressing about falling back asleep. lol I'm silly. It always works out but that's about as "difficult" as it gets for me.
On the weekend if it's an important CD, I'll take my temp at 5am and simply fall back asleep again. My BBT saves it so I don't have worry about getting up to jot it down or memorize it.
Temping isn't for everyone. However it gives ME peace of mind since I know this is the only way to confirm ovulation. It takes away all of the guess work and I know when to start testing and expect AF.

I have been since my m/c and I'm glad I do. My cycles have been long and without temping I couldn't be sure when I O or when to time BDing.
My first cycle TTCAL I got + OPKs around CD15, but my temp didn't rise. I actually O'ed a week later when I got another set of + OPKs and temp rise. If I hadn't been charting my temps I would've thought we were done BDing and I also prob would have thought I was pg since my period was a week later.
On the other hand.... before the m/c we just went with the "do it every day" approach and I was KU on the first try. I think there's a stress factor involved. If you think temping will stress you out it's probably not a good idea.

Wow! Thanks for all the responses! You all are fantastic!
I'm contemplating it for sure.
I think if no luck this month then I may give it a go next month. So I'm sure I'll be posting more temping questions then. LOL.
I started our TTC journey temping and then got burnt out on it and stopped for a month. That is the month we had our suspected chemical pregnancy. It was only suspected because I didn't take an HPT since I didn't know when to test. However, I had all of the signs of a CP, and my doc agrees that this was probably what happened.
After that experience, I have gone back to temping. While it is annoying to have to wake up at the same time to take your temp, and to make sure you are getting enough sleep, I feel like it makes the 2WW easier because you know for sure when you O and when you can test.
