When did you start giving LO Cheerios?

How do you know they're ready?

DD loves rice puffs, yogurt puffs and also tiny pieces of cheese and turkey lunch meat. Since she's "chewing" (tongue to roof of mouth) does that mean that she's ready for Cheerios? I'm afraid of them being a choking hazard, cause they don't dissolve, right? Or do they?

Re: When did you start giving LO Cheerios?

  • It sounds like she's ready, especially if she's eating puffs with no problems. I think we gave them to H around the same age and it's been a love affair ever since.

  • We started last week. M loves them - she grabs them, studies them and gums them until they are super squishy and then swallows them. We don't give her a ton at a time - usually 2 or 3 and quickly replenish them on her tray. Otherwise they would be all over the floor.
  • If she's eating cheese and turkey, she can totally do Cheerios!  Soak them in a little bit or milk or formula first to soften them up.

  • YAY! I'm picking some up OMW home from work :) I've been patiently waiting to give her O's forever :)
  • I started last week and it's been good. He's only fed it to himself once though. He likes to pick 'em up and drop 'em on the floor. Looks like my cat will be gaining some weight. Smile

  • We started a few weeks ago and she's been fine with them. I felt okay about it because she had been doing well with puffs and mum mums and had the pincer grasp down.
