LO will be 1 month on Monday (!!!!) - I feel as though we should start playing now? I am just kind of at a loss as to what to do, when to do it, etc.
I feel like right now, DD is so fussy. She has reflux and was just put on Zantac yesterday. We get practically no awake and content time with her. I am afraid if we play with her after a feeding, she will get over-stimulated and then overly tired.
Can anyone give me some guidance on this?
TIA!

Re: When do you start playing? What do you do?
we also stick our tongue out at her with close face to face time or do exaggerated blinking or opening our mouths. she started imitating sticking out her tongue last week.
she likes when we sing songs too, and often i'll make them up about her face and touch different parts while i sing, and she seems to like it.
I coo at her a lot too and she likes the sounds, and purses her lips like she is going to make a sound too (she doesn't yet).
also it's not really playing maybe but we place her on a warm towel an use unscented baby oil and give her a massage, she really likes it.
that's the extent of our "play" right now, it doesn't last long but she definitely likes it and feels stimulated.

expecting surprise baby no.3 may 3rd
I play with his little feet - pat them together, touch his toes, count his toes & fingers.... I read books to him. I point out parts of his face in a sing-song fashion ( 2 eyes, 1 mouth, 1 nose.)
Like others said, we make exaggerated faces at him.
We just bought a play gym, and have used it 2-3x. He lies there kicking his legs & staring. A couple of times he's hit one of the dangling animals.
He doesn't have a whole lot of quiet-alert time, so I try at least to read to him during that time.
Now I feel bad that I'm not really playing with DD. I mean, I talk to her, but she's not really all that happy when she's awake most of the time. We're dealing with a colicky baby here... But it's getting better.
She likes to be in her swing or i'll stand there with her for a few minutes after changing her. SHe loves laying on her changing mat to stare at the ceiling fan in her room. But I haven't really tried the playmat yet. Should I be doing more?
