Fish Allergy

T had salmon for the first time last night and broke out in hives. Sad There were a couple of red marks on her legs when I change her  for bed but didn't think much of it. Then when I went to bed I noticed she was very restless.  She was rolling from one end of the crib to the other so I got her up to see what was wrong. I think she was itching because she then had hives on her arms, legs, tummy and cheeks. I gave her benedryl and let her sleep with us. She seemed fine this morning with only one mark on her cheek. This is the first time I have dealt with an allergic reaction to food. She is home with DH because her sitter is sick. I'm going to call the Pedi to make sure we don't need to do anything else.

  • Poor T. I'm glad you checked on her and were all able to get a little rest last night.  I hope the hives are gone tody.

  • Oh no. Good thing you were on it! I don't know if I would have checked on Sydney if she wasn't crying.

Guess I should have some benadryl or something in the house, just in case.

That's not a bad idea.  Especially as they get older.

  • Ok well I thank you for reminding me it is a good idea to have Benadryl. I don't think I do & was thinking to give her eggs for the 1st time this weekend. Good thing you had some.
