Door open unless she is stuffy, then I put on humidifier and close the door so all the "steam" doesnt get out..

Door closed until we go to bed, then open. Her room is right across the hall from ours so we just do door open instead of having the monitor on.

Ok, I'm going to start this off by saying I am a loser who does not have a baby monitor. If I did - I might not do what I do.

Lately, I keep the door shut until I go to bed. I do this, because I am able to hear him if he cries, but it helps to block out the noises I am making (tv, computer, laundry, ect). Then when I go to bed, I open the door.

open unless we have people over. The heater in her room doesnt work well so it gets really cold in there if we close it. And we don't have to use the monitor if it's open.

We have it closed initially until DD1 falls asleep (so she doesn't wake her up), but once she is asleep, we open it. Otherwise it gets too cold in there.

He sleeps with his bedroom door shut, as do we. We use a video monitor. We have an obnoxious pomeranian who does things like run into his room and sneeze right near his crib if the door is open or bark at a car driving by. So it's best that the doors be close to quiet the noise as much as possible.

We close it until we go to bed, then open it for the night. It gets chilly in there with the humidifier running.

Closed. We have a two year he could wake up when he cries in the middle of the night. We don't really need to keep it open since we have a video monitor on him.

We keep both of our doors closed because it stays warmer in the rooms that way and quieter. I don't use the monitor anymore and I can still hear DS if he wakes up. I was waking up at every little noise before and he is a loud sleeper.

Door shut, no monitor. If he's loud enough for me to hear him, I go in. If he's not loud enough for me to hear then it's just squeeks and grizzles and he'll go back asleep himself. We live in a small house so it's easy.

We close DD's door and our door only because our dogs like to roam around at night if doors are open and they like to sleep in her room. They're just too big and clumsy that it usually wakes her up because she's a light sleeper and when she hears them she wants to play.
