Hi all,
I'm new to the site, so I figured now's a good time to introduce myself... and then ask for some advice.
DH and I will be married 2 years in March, and just bought a house a few months ago so we could start a family.
In December, I went to my GYN (sadly he gave up being an OB years ago) for the yearly exam (fun!) to make sure everything was ok in that area, talk about TTC within the next few months, and renew my BC in the meantime.
He recommended being off BC for 2 months before TTC, to make sure the hormones were out of my system.
Well, I ended up renewing the BC, but not taking it, as of mid-Dec. I was pleasantly surprised when DH said I may as well stop taking it, since we had 2 months of condoms to wait through anyway.
The first "month", I had all sorts of side effects from coming off BC, and then got my period 6 days early (22 days)! This month, no other symptoms, but I'm at 6 days early again, 22 days - at least it's consistent! I know 22 days is still in the window of "normal" but I've never been more than 2 days or so early before, even off BC.
DH is worried that my body is out of whack, and afraid that if we start trying now and succeed it's likely to MC.
I'm a little more anxious to start trying!
What do you think? Is my body out of whack? Or just saying "get on with it already!"

Re: Safe to start TTC?
You don't know if you're "early" or "late", because your period have been determined by BCPs. If you realy want to know what your cycle is looking like, get a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility and/or do the tutorial on fertilityfriend.com. Both are very informative and can give you the tools you need to figure out what your cycles are like and if they're normal. Mine were consistently 25 days for the longest time, which is still in the realm of normal. What's more important is time between ovulation and your period (luteal phase).
If your period starts on CD22 but you ovulate on CD12, you have no higher risk of m/c from a timing perspective than the next gal. But if you ovulate on, say, CD18, there may be issues, since there wouldn't be time for an embryo to implant.
Also understand that you may have a few cycles like this, but they may become longer or different as you spend more time off of BCP. Some people go right to normal cycles after they come off of BCP, others need months to regulate.
How does your DH know whether or not this is normal? Has he been doing some TTC research or something?

Thanks for the advice!
I checked with my GYN just to be safe, and he gave us the green light to TTC. So as soon as AF packs her bags, here goes nothing!
