DH and I are finally planning our trip to Vegas. I haven't been for 5 years, last time I was there I married ex-h.

So I want to make better memories. Last time I stayed at the Flamingo - I loved it! BUT, tell me where you stay. We want to stay in a nice place for a good price. (We were looking at the Luxor and Caesars) No roach motels please!

Last time we went we stayed at the Wynn - it was AMAZING.
I've also stayed at New York, New York, Planet Hollywood and the Venetian...
Honestly, all of these are great hotels
Did my honeymoon at the Luxor and loved it. Sign up for e-mails from Luxor and you can get some pretty good deals.

Well I am a hotel snob I guess because we stayed at the Flamingo and I was not impressed. Maybe it would be better in the summer time though because they had an awesome pool area. My best advice is to stay in the newest hotel you can afford. The hotels in Vegas start to get gross after a few years and start to smell like one big old ashtray.
I personally like Cesar's Palace. I like the attractions at Mandalay Bay. The Bellagio is nice too.
I have stayed at the Luxor and its ok. I would rate it as comparable to the Flamingo though.

It's been 3 or 4 years since we've been. We had a bunch of nice options - Caesar's, Wynn, Luxor, Paris, etc. - but we ended up staying at Hooters. I actually picked the hotel - I decided that I wanted to just have fun, it was a nice hotel and was really laid back. It really was a lot of fun and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We don't go to Vegas anymore though, DH quit smoking so hanging out in a smoky casino is absolute torture for him (and lousy for me - I've got asthma). Have fun!!!

We stayed at the MGM last time and it was nice and the pools are amazing!
I went to the hotel's websites and signed up to receive emails from them. That way when they send out some good offers and discounts I can snatch it up!

I love Las Vegas! I have been there 24 times in 10 years
I've stayed at the following:
Stratosphere-great price, great rooms, cheap $5 blackjack tables but off strip bring cab money or ride the new monorail to the strip.
Fremont-(comped so I don't know the price) horrible rooms, in old Vegas, great gambling **wouldn't recommend staying but do go and gamble there!
Harrahs-nice rooms, good restaurants, great piano bar, mid strip and great prices
San Remo (Now Hooters)-seedy, bad rooms, but cheap gambling (think LV Vacation Rock Paper Scissors LOL)
Bellagio-very nice rooms, higher end gambling, great food (comped rooms so I'm not sure on the price but I think it's $100-$250 depending on day), close to everything on strip. Would stay there again.
Venetian-Best place I've stayed in Vegas. The rooms were comped, but I know they are running a special now for $129 per night. They are all suite hotel. Great food, great service, decent payouts on slots but tables are $25 min on most. Will definitely stay there again!
Luxor-end of strip. Decent prices (I think, I've comped most of the time). Great lower end tables ($10-15) and good payout on slots. I did however end up getting lost at this hotel more times than any other casino there! Great buffet!
Treasure Island-great rooms, great location, great bars/nightclubs. Mediocre gambling, but would recommend for the price and location.
I guess my top pics in order are: Venetian, Treasure Island, Bellagio for great hotels.
For price: Stratosphere, Harrah's and Luxor.
Have fun I am so jealous!
This. It was nice but don't eat at the buffet. I got food poisoning and spent three days unable to leave the room. Which was nice by the way.

I have only been to Vegas once. We stayed at Mandalay Bay, which was really nice. There was lots to do there, and there are sky bridges to the Luxor and Excalibur. The only downside is that it is at the far end of the strip, but there is the double decker bus which makes it a lot more accessible. I would definitely go back to Mandalay Bay in the future. We were able to get a great deal through their website directly, and they are always having specials.
If you do go there, check out Forty Deuce and Minus 5 Ice Bar. Both are worth going to.

DH and I went in November for our 2nd anniversary. We stayed at the Luxor and got a really great rate. It was around $39/night--we were in a tower not the pyramid but we're not too picky. Our flights were super expensive so saving on the hotel was a major bonus.
We saw Cirque du Soleil's Love (Beatles themed) and KA. If you are at all a Beatles fan, you MUST see Love---it's fantastic.
Be sure to go to the Bellagio Conservatory/Botanical Gardens. Never in my life have I seen a Venus fly trap----and there were many way bigger than me!!
My favorite hotel to walk around is The Venetian because I love all things Italy.
Our trip to the Hoover Dam had to be canceled because I had terrible morning sickness at the time. If you've never done that, you definitely should. I did it about 3 years ago and it was very cool.
Check out the Facebook pages of the places you are wanting to stay, you may fight discount rate codes there. I had signed up for Luxor's emails and received notifications when they had specials.
What a fun trip to plan
I like THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. DH and I have been there a few times and never had any issues with it.
I also love the spa treatments at the Bathhouse.
