Hi ladies. I'm starting to move on to this board from the pregnancy loss
board, so I wanted to introduce myself. I'm currently waiting for AF
after my last MC, so I guess my official status is TTA, but hope to be
back to TTCAL in a few weeks (FX!). I'm looking forward to trying again and moving on with things. It's a new year and I need a fresh start.
I've
been thinking about going to a fertility specialist, but I'm not sure
if I should. February will mark one year since DH and I started TTC. I
got PG in May and in November and MC'ed both times. So, between those
we've really only been actively TTC for 7 cycles and I'm not sure if
that's long enough to really warrant a fertility visit. I'm worried,
though, that there is something wrong with my body that is causing me to
lose my pregnancies. I do realize that 7 cycles isn't that long in the
grand scheme of things, and 2 MC's aren't completely uncommon. If
there's is something I can do to prevent another one, though, I'd like
to know. I'm also worried that my short luteal phase (9-10 days) has
something to do with all of this. Have any of you ladies gone to a
specialist? How long had you been TTC before you went? Is it even worth
going? Anyone else have a short luteal phase?

Re: Intro and questions
Welcome to the board, I am so sorry for your losses.
As for your question, it couldn't hurt to go see an RE. They will tell you to wait longer or they could help you out right away. Have you talked to your OB about this?

What does your OB think? I would talk to my OB/midwife first and see if they will do some basic RPL testing just to ease your mind. Ask her about progesterone suppositories, baby asprin, and extra folic acid. Those are the most common treatments for RPL with and without a diagnosis.
Most practitioners will be ok with all those things and will also prescribe progesterone suppositories without pursuing more intrusive testing. You just have to ask. That is the big thing I have learned through this process: ask and you shall receive. GL with everything and I hope you are able to get some answers!

Hello and welcome to the board!
I'm so sorry for your losses. No one should have to go through this. I honestly think going to a specialist can only help. I just had my 2nd loss, so I will be seeing an RE next month. I hope we find answers soon.
GL!
I have been seeing a RE for years. Took me 5 years with fertility drugs the first time to get pregnant before my loss, and than 1 round of injections for this pregnancy.
For a RE they normally want to see 1 year of trying with no pregnancies. If your over the age of 35 than it would be 6 months.
I would also suggest asking about the tests that the other posters have recommended.
But you will go thru an extensive tests of seman, HSG's to check if your tubes are clear and blood work.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Welcome to the board and I am very sorry for your loss.

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled. However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15! Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!
Surprise! Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due. Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

I'm sorry for your losses. Welcome!
After my 2nd m/c my Ob/Gyn did a rpl panel and nothing showed up and so after my 3rd m/c she sent me to an RE. A lot of doctors wont do testing until after 3 losses and some insurance won't cover before 3 either. Have you talked to your Ob/gyn about testing and your short lp? I would probably start there. Good luck, hopefully you can get some answers!
I am so sorry for your losses. Welcome to the board. The women here are amazing and very supportive. I hope your stay is short and sweet.
In regards to seeing an RE, I don't think it could hurt to get a referral. With multiple miscarriages and a short LP, it would be worth it. Make sure you bring your charts to show the doctor. That will save you a lot of time. I also have a short LP (10 days), and am being treated with prometrium this cycle. We aren't sure if this had anything to do with our loss, but if there is even the slightest chance I think it is worth the treatment.
Best of luck to you.
