Newborn clothes or 0-3 months ???

Do you think newborn clothes will fit a 9 plus pound baby???? he is 9# 4 oz so far and is being delivered via c-section tuesday......I am bringing both sizes but wondering if our chunky monkey will even fit his clothes...lol

Picture was taken today at growth scan.....he is getting so big,that this is the best we got, but still happy to have it

    I am wondering the same thing...the doctor thinks little Michael will be at least 8 lbs or more...so I think I'm going to bring both newborn & 0-3 months just in case :)

    Newborn? Probably not. The newborn that I have goes up to 8lbs (according to the tags) Our LOs 0-3 month clothing I have goes from 8-12lbs.

    But, just because the u/s says 9lbs 4 oz that doesn't mean that he is going to be that large. Ultrasounds can be off by up to 2 pounds even.

    If you bring both sizes he is going to fit into one of them so I wouldn't worry about it.

    I think if they fit, it won't be for very long.  I'd move up to the 0-3 size.

    THIS! My friend in FL was told by her u/s before her scheduled c/s that her baby girl was projected to weight 9lbs, and she came out 6lbs 3 oz. So... yeah. They didn't buy any NB clothing because they'd told her her baby was going to be a behemoth. 

    To be safe, just bring a few NB onesies and a few 0-3's. It can't hurt.

    I am bringing both, but trying to decide what cute outfits to put him in for some pics......here is hoping he is a little smaller, but I don't care as long as he is happy and healthly :)

    WOW.....well I have both, but my ob says he isn't progressing the way he should be so, I hope c-section was the correct option, considering all factors.....disc problems and possability that an epdi. wouldn't work,etc

    you can't guarentee weight until they actually come out. I would bring a NB outfit with you and a 0-3 just in case. If the NB size fits then great if not then you at least have a back up. I only washed 2 outfits and 2 PJs in NB size to see if they fit first. If they do then I will wash the rest of them if not then I will be returning them.

    The tags give you a guideline for height/weight but it will really depend on DC's build.  My DS was born at 7lbs 12oz and wore NB clothes comfortably for 6 weeks.  We probably could have moved him up to 0-3 a few weeks in but we wanted to get our use out of the NB size before moving up.  He was well into the 10lb range by a month so bigger than that by 6 wks.  I would bring both, but I'd assume he'll fit in a NB outfit just fine.

    My kids never fit what the tags said. Even newborn clothes were HUGE on my almost 8lb daughter and newborn was a joke on my 6lb 4oz son. I think newborn will work up to 10 or 11lbs.

    my first daughter weighed 9 pounds at birth & wore newborn clothing for a while with no issues. the newborn sized outfit she came home in fit her just fine.
