Anyone NOT doing wall letters?

So many of the nursery photos I look at have wall letters of the baby's name. For some reason I don't like it too much.

So other than those, what wall decoration are you using (prints, paintings, decals) and where did you get it from? Or are you crafty and making things yourselves?

Re: Anyone NOT doing wall letters?

  • No wall letters for us.  The whole nursery has a mural like look to it so we don't want to go overboard.

  • ME!  I may paint a canvas with his monogram on it, but I'm not doing the traditional wooden wall letters.  I also am painting canvases with clowns on them that match the fabric I'm using for bedding (Braemore Clowning Around).  I think I'm going to hang some pictures of DH and I as babies (and add Cupcake's picts too), as well as the birth announcements that were made for us when we were born (mine is cross-stitched, DH's is wooden).  Those are the only ideas I have at this point.  I've seen some cute things at art.com though.

  • I am not using them....They are cute, but too over done in my opinion. I bought some frames and am on the search for good prints. I also I also may hang a quilt.
  • Not hanging anything over the crib that could fall off the wall and into the crib. I did a wall stencil.
  • nooo wall letters for us.  It's a bit overdone.  I have a wall hanging from India that has the alphabet and photos of animals and foods (mostly native to India of course ha).    and we are hanging up a guitar (pic in baby bio)

other than that, juts some small stuff probably!

  • No wall letters here.  I've gotten a few prints off of etsy and I have my eye on some wall stickers (of jungle and safari animals - just outlines) also on etsy.
  • We will decorate the walls with a print of Rainbow Row in Charleston, SC, a maternity photo of me and dh (having them done next weekend), bedding if we find some we like, and maybe some other little things we collect along the way.

  • None for us. Definitely NMS. And, it seems like everyone does them.

We are doing a branch w/ some birds decals above the crib. PIB - I got them off etsy.

  • we are not doing wall letters. ?we are putting a grouping of frames above the baby's crib of pictures of him, us and his 4 grandparents as babies in random placing.
  • I didn't for DS's room, but am for this baby only because my DH somehow got it in his head that we really needed to spell the baby's name.  Otherwise, I probably wouldn't (and still might not, they aren't up yet).  I found some fun print for both of the kids rooms on ebay....search "kids art".  They were pretty cheap, but I found stuff that matched the rooms perfectly and framed them myself to save some $.

  • We're doing prints from Etsy.  I'm not a fan of the wall letters.
  • None for us. They are in 99% of nurseries lately, but I'm not really a fan. I think a nice print or painting on the wall is much more to look at than a name.
  • I have wall stickers from the $tree....pics in blog

  • We are hanging these alphabet cards in the room.  I am in love with this artist.

  • We put up a giant diaper pin that I got from PBK...I loved it since I saw it, I think that was the first thing I got for the nursery.

  • I'm not a fan of wall letters, so we'll be skipping those. I found some prints from the Eric Carle Museum I really like.
  • hadnt planned on doing it originally - but ended up finding some that i really liked that said 'dream'

im not so craft either though ... :-/?

  • I didn't do the wooden wall letters but I did put up some vinyl lettering that said "Dream big, little one"

  • DH made her monogram out of wood, so we'll be putting that in a shadow box above her crib. Other stuff we have for the wall includes a vinyl sticker of the quote "Consider the lilies" for another wall....canvas art from Etsy...and 1-2 other art pieces we already had.
  • I don't mind how the letters look, but it seems like everybody is doing them so that turned me off a little.  We have a tree decal from Land of Nod, an Alphabet hanging with little stuffed toys representing each letter from a boutique in NY and I'm still on the hunt for some prints or something to go over the crib.  I'm being too picky and now I have nothing, go figure!  We won't have it by the time the baby is born, but I guess we have time to find that "perfect" decoration since he'll be in that room for awhile.
  • No wall letters for us.

DD#1 and DD#2 have artwork on their walls (framed prints) - of ABC's, etc.?

  • I'm not sure of exactly what we'll name our little girl, so no name will go on the wall. I have a lot of antique dresses, dolls, and fashion prints I was going to hang or set on some shelves. I buck trends and go old school.
  • We're not using wall letters. We're going to do some framed art, but also this tree next to a tall bookcase: https://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_3&listing_id=15105404
  • No wall letters for me. I just felt it has been overdone and tend to have a more eclectic style anyways. I bought all our prints and painting on etsy. I loved getting unique and original artwork. I knew what kinds of colors and objects I wanted in the pictures so I just searched for those.
  • we are not doing letters. we are having my brothers girlfriend do some handmade animal prints (framed). Basically just a bunch of artwork on the wall.
