AAP position on infants and shoes - link?

I know they recommend against shoes on infants (that babies learn to walk either barefoot or in socks).  I've read that on plenty of "other" websites.  But I can't pinpoint the "official" AAP position paper/ link/ webpage on this issue.

Can anyone help?  I'm trying to settle a debate  Wink

    I don't have it, but it can be hard to find the specific AAP publications on these positions. Took me forever to find the one on sleeping in mom/dad's room to prevent SIDS. I assume you've tried googling AAP/shoes/infant or something along those lines already?

    Oy, I remember looking that one up, too!  Not easy, but I do like to have it "from the source" if I'm going to use it to support what I'm saying :)

    Yeah, I've been sitting here googling. . .DH just hollered at me and wanted to know if I'd found it yet (the debate isn't with him!), and I said no, but I was posting it on here and I was sure someone would point me in the right direction!  He responded:  "Oooh, you're sticking your girls on it??!!  They're (the people with whom I'm debating) in trouble!!"  Goofball :)

    Well, I wouldn't use this as the primary case, but you can pull dicta (hehe) to bolster your argument:
