12/13 weekers...

Is anyone still having  bad M/S???  I am still throwing up and I am thinking I might call the doctor to see if they will prescribe Zofran.  I am down almost 9 lbs since 5 weeks.  I am a little worried that I am still not keeping down my major meals.  I was no where near this sick with Sophie and I am ready to be able to EAT and enjoy a meal again!  Do you think its silly to get meds this late, since I will be in 2nd tri soon???

Re: 12/13 weekers...

  • This week I have been had more nausea than ever, mainly in the evening. I am only down 3lbs but have another appt. tomorrow so we'll see if I've lost more. I bought sea bands today just to see if that helps at all.

9lbs is a lot, I would go ahead and ask your dr. about Zofran. At least you will get his/her opinion on how significant the weight loss is and whether or not you should be worried.  GL!

  • This past week I have felt great during the day, then awful around dinner time and for the rest of the night... half of the time losing my dinner to the toilet :(  So I feel your pain. Like PP said, 9 lbs is a lot so I don't see any harm in asking for Zofran. Hopefully it will all subside in a week or so and you won't need it for too long!

  • Aww :::hugs::::

That sounds terrible. At 12 weeks exactly, my m/s dissipated and at 13 weeks, it's nearly completely gone. Hang in there, girl, I bet you only have another week or two until you start to see an improvement. Just try to stay hydrated!

  • I don't, but my cousin is 16 weeks and she had it really bad up until a week ago. Hope yours gets better very, very soon. It really sounds awful.

  • i don't think it is silly. it is important to feel better and if zofran helps, then i say go for it!

  • Mine is significantly better but nausea still is always present if I'm not eating something - so I am unfortunately gaining too much weight.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

  • Yes girl! Go get the Zofran.  I just took one yesterday.  Its nice to have it around just in case and it sounds like you really need some.
  • I am still taking my Zofran.  I don't need it constantly, but when I do I am so glad I have the kind that melts in my mouth.

  • I'm 12 wks, 3 days and mine has reduced a bit this week. I've only vomited once this week, but still had mild nausea in the mornings and evenings. I'm really hoping this is the last week. I'm down six pounds since I was weighed at my Dr. at 8 wks, but since I'm a little overweight, my Dr. said she's not too concerned at this point.
  • Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts!  I will be calling the doctor in the morning.

  • With DD I lost 10 lbs by the time I hit 12 weeks, when m/s stopped like someone flipped a switch. This time weeks 11 and 12 had occasional bouts, but now it is basically down. I am down about 6 lbs this time.

I say if it'll ease your stress, then look into it. If you think you can tough it out a bit more,  then do it because you are probably almost to the end.

    Good luck either way!

I've actually been feeling worse with the m/s this week- extra nauseous and cranky at work and especially in the evenings- I feel so crappy right now...  I was hoping that next week (14 weeks) might be my magic number, and hearing your cousin was bad until 16 weeks makes me want to cry ;(  hopefully I won't have to wait until 16 weeks to feel better....

  • Mine got much worse in the last week.  I am hoping that I'll get past this part but right now, I try not to get my hopes up too high....

  • A friend suggested a B-6 supplement for morning sickness. It was recommended by her Dr and seemed to help. It might help those of us with the more mild woozies...
