I never imagined this was even possible. So, daycare just called to tell me that he has scratches on his face. They washed them with soap and water, etc., etc., but they did an accident report and usually call to give a heads up when there's an accident report.So. The good news isn't they weren't primarily calling to report some type of misconduct. But then the rest of the story unfolded. . . Apparently DS and another little boy were crawling under the cribs (they like to do this - kind of like hide and seek). They saw a toy. And both set their sights on said toy.The battle for the toy began.DS was scratched on his face. The other child endured pushing, and perhaps some hair pulling. More face scratches. . . OMG!!!! Baby wrestling!! I'm beyond mortified, but his teachers did their best to assure me that they were playing, not being aggressive (i.e. he's not "in trouble, they're not "concerned" about his behavior, or anything) . . . So I'm also a little humored trying to picture the scene -- like a fight in the high school hallways where the teachers have to run out and break the kids apart -- but he's in the Young Infants room, so the kids are all so fat and rolly polly and don't have great control of their limbs, you know?! I was too caught off guard to ask for more details, but am definitely going to request a play-by-play when I go pick him up - for curiosity sake and to get to the bottom of this. Oh my gosh. I didn't expect a phone call like this for at least a few more years.Oy. And boooooooooo.
I would be mortified as well if it was my child however just picturing it made me laugh. I can see them pushing and scratching over a toy. I hope that you get a full explanation.
I have to admit I giggled. We've had incident reports for Toodle that say "A friend tried to take his snack and he scratched his friend." Also super embarrassing but a little funny sounding. It's Lord of the Flies over there (and FWIW, as he's gotten older he's stopped doing this).
This really cracks me up!!! Claire and another little boy close in age go at it frequently and per my daycare mom, the boy starts it. When I helped my daycare mom out last week, I got to see exactly what she was talking about. Babies gone wild!!!!! DH and the other father are police officers together and we were wondering if she turns a PNP upside down for cage matches.

I was at Gymboree the other day, and DS bit a little girls toe... I was mortified, but couldn't help laughing since this girl head butted him about 2 weeks ago. It gets rough during parachute time.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Re: OMG. My 10-month-old just "got in a fight"
Wait until the biting starts. That's never a fun topic to give calls to parents about.
(I don't mean I think he'll start biting, I just ment biting as a whole. It usually peaks in 1.5-2 year old age groups.)
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Oh wow - I can't imagine. I simply cannot.
But it's funny to think about as an outsider!
I hope he's ok and he's just getting his aggressive phase out of his system!
