DS is still on Size 2 nipple and I think doing just fine, but wondered if anyone ever moved up to a size 3 nipple. At home he'll go through his bottles just fine. At daycare however, he refuses his bottles a lot, to the point I'm worried he's not getting enough formula (like only 6oz total at daycare sometimes) I think it's partly because he likes his solid food better and because he is easily distracted when he eats. So, if there's another baby crying or moving about or anything, he's more interested in that. But daycare mentioned yesterday that maybe it's cause his nipple isn't big enough and he's working too hard?
Anyway, is there really a big difference in size 2 and 3 and should I give the 3s a try?
Re: Size 3 nipple?
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
We moved to size 3's at 5 months because DS was slow and distracted (still is distracted but only slow at daycare it seems). I felt there was a significant difference. It couldn't hurt to try.
However, at this point, he might just be ready to eat more solids. At 9 mos, by our pedi's orders, we started limiting DS to 24 oz a day. I think between 18 and 24 oz is normal if they are eating a decent amount and variety of solids.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.
