Very similar, but as he's gotten older he's so much more beautiful than I could have imagined any child ever being. We also had a "preview", so to speak, from seeing the Doodles, I always pictured that any other children we had would resemble them and he certainly did as a newborn. The only real difference is his hair is lighter than I pictured (but my hair was lighter also when I was little) and I never pictured a boy looking like me as well and not just DH.
All I had to go on was my baby pictures (since we used donor sperm), and yes, he looks just like I did as a baby/toddler. It's really quite remarkable!
Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
Nope, he has blonde hair and the most beautiful colored eyes I have ever seen. Both H and myself have dark brown hair and brown eyes...
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I really had no idea. I had a dream about her before I even got pregnant and she looks sorta like she did in that dream. She got my husband's beautiful blue eyes and his curls (at least so far).
Ella was dark complected with dark hair, and we were both light and blonde as babies, so no. But with Jules, we expected what she would look like (exactly like her sister). Tuck is more of what we picture a baby that we made would look like.
I used to look at our nine nieces and nephews and wonder if our kids would share any of their traits.
Elizabeth had reddish hair at birth, which was a complete surprise. And now she very light brown hair and blue eyes. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes, DH has dark brown hair and hazel eyes. So nope, not what I would have guessed!
After 20 months, 3 Clomid cycles and 4 IUI cycles, IVF #1 with ICSI = BFP!
sort of...DH and I looked very similar as babies...but Jones looks more like my dad (but is starting to resemble DH more and more!!) His hair is much lighter than DH and I had...I envisioned him with darker hair and more of it! (that's me on the top and DH on the bottom..holy moly were we FAT!)
Nope, he has blonde hair and the most beautiful colored eyes I have ever seen. Both H and myself have dark brown hair and brown eyes...
What color eyes?
They change with what he is wearing. He has grey eyes one day (like the picture below) and then the greenest of green the next. I keep waiting for them to change but I think they may be here to say.

I never imagined Bennett with blue eyes and am kind of surprised he's blonde. I have hazel eyes and Brian has brown. I have blonde hair, but it's pretty heavily highlighted these days. I was super blonde was a kid, but my hair turned an awful dirty blonde when I got into Jr. High. I bet Bennett's will also get darker as he gets older.

Nope:) As soon as I found out I was having a girl I pictured her looking just like me with red hair and brown eyes. I was shocked when she was born with black hair (I was a blad baby at first). Her hair eventually turned light brown and she has beautiful blue eyes. The older she gets the more I think she looks like me and I can see a lot of my features. I'm very curious to see if this little boy is going to be my red head!
Clomid M/C 8 weeks 2/08 *IVF #1-DD born 3/09
*Surprise BFP-T18 baby lost at 13w 1/10 *FET #1-DS born 2/11
Of course not, because I pictured a baby that was a cross between Glenn and I, with at least some of my features. I could never have predicted that one day I'd be using donor egg. And, in our case, we didn't see any pictures of our donor, so, I really have no idea what she looks like.
The funny thing is that there is somewhat of a resemblance between Alana and I, but, really, it's a total fluke.
Not really, even though she does look a lot like me. I just pictured hair....and assumed she would either be a redhead or have brown hair....the hair she has is white, and I wasn't expecting that.

Not really. I am blonde and DH is really dark haired (almost black). I had pictured him as blonde like me and hazel eyes (like me). When he was born he was really dark haired (Like DH). His hair has lightened but it is more of a light brown/really dark blonde and he has brown eyes.
Yes- Charlie and Lexie look very similar. And Charlie looks like us.
Dan and I sort of look similar- brown hair- light eyes etc. The only surprising thing is how blue Charlie's eyes are. Lexie will probably end up with my grey eyes instead of a bright blue.
Married 8.13.2005, M/C 12/8/06- 5 weeks, M/C 2/27/07- 7 weeks, M/C w/ D&C 8/10/09-6.5 weeks *Charles Lawrence born 5/2/08 @ 3:14am, 7lb 8oz, 20.5 inches. Clomid, Crinone and baby aspirin. *Alexandra Claire born 9/14/10 @ 9:52am 6lb 14oz, 20.5 inches. Femara, Crinone and baby aspirin.
Not at all. Yet they look EXACTLY like me as a baby. In fact, I just posted a picture of me as a baby with my grandpa on Facebook today and the resemblance is sort of crazy.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I imagined him with lighter eyes like his dad, but he has my brown eyes. Both DH and I now have brown hair, but DS is a blondie like we were when we were young. DS pretty much looks like me. And he is very cute i might add!
Severe MFI resulting in IVF/ICSI #1 in Nov 2007. BFP!! Our beautiful son was born July 2008.
2010: 2 IVF's,1 FET = 2 BFN's, 1 c/p Feb 2011-Unmedicated FET= BFP!! DS #2 born Oct 2011!!.
Not at all! My husband is one of five kids and they all look exactly like his mother so I just assumed our child would also look like her since it appears those genes are very strong. His cousins all look alike also, so there are 30+ people in the family that look pretty much exactly the same. My son is actually a nice mix of the two of us. He got my blonde hair and a few other features and my husband's eyes. I was secretly thrilled that he doesn't look like my MIL, but she still has to insist that he looks just like my husband's family and nothing like me.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!
IVF #1 - BFP (6dt)
Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops
Nope, Jake looks ALOT like my mother who is deseased..He has her round face and these super chubby cheeks. He also has this double chin that I don't know where that came from...
I truly thought that he would look more like my DH...
Not really, even though she does look a lot like me. I just pictured hair....and assumed she would either be a redhead or have brown hair....the hair she has is white, and I wasn't expecting that.
LOL -- this! And I pictured her with black hair like DH's, but the hair she has is light brown/strawberry blonde. I also did not imagine that her facial features would so closely resemble DH's.
I honestly did not have a vision of what my child would look like. I'm still wondering where in the world Nicholas got his blonde hair from. Both me and DH have dark hair since birth. he must have gotten it from someone down the line.
Oh and now I am curious to know if our new baby will have blonde hair too.
