Our little girl decided to make her appearance today. All I have to say at this point is make sure you trust your body. I called the on-call doctor this morning at 6 am and told him my story,4-5 minute contractions for 4 hours but not a lot of pain. He talked to me through 2 contractions then proceeded to tell me that I was having BH because I "wasn't in enought pain," but that I could go to the hospital if I wanted to get checked. I started crying telling DH if these aren't real contractions I've been up with all night I'm going to have a mental breakdown. So DH took me to the hospital and needless to say when I was checked I was already 7 cm. So much for the on-call doctor and his "perception" of my pain. Maybe that's why I love my female doctor!

Congrats on your sweet bundle of joy!!
I totally hear you about the on-call doc thing! When I was having some contractions I didn't know they were contractions to me they felt like really bad period cramps. The doctor kept telling me over and over what a contraction felt like and I kept saying I havent ever had a baby before I have no clue what that feels like and i understand what you are saying but something doesn't feel right! Went in sure enough they were contractions! Not regularly timed but they were the real deal I have had them off and on since 35 weeks.
