I'm very interested in learning sign language and working to teach my baby. I know some of you have experience with it, and so I wanted to know how you approached it all. The only sign language I currently know is the alphabet : ) Did you buy a kit and work through that? When did you really start trying to teach DC? I appreciate any input.

Re: baby sign language
When DH is getting ready he turns C's bed towards the TV and she watches Baby Signing Time... we are hoping she will pick up. Really we just wanted the basics so we bought the first DVD and play that for her... everything else I think would be getting too elaborate and we want her to talk eventually... so the first video has eating signs, pets, diaper, hurt, mom, dad, gma, gpa....
There was also a daily deal on baby signs starter kit, we havent watched those yet... its pretty much the same thing but individual dvds.
Lately when she is fussy and we know she is hungry, we sign milk and then let her eat.
HTH!
I use this site: https://www.lifeprint.com/
And I do what everyone else said.... look up a new sign when I need one. I use a new sign when we've mastered the old one and I want him to learn a new sign. Start with more, all done, hi/bye.
Then go onto eat, drink, etc...
Ditto this.
