WARNING - this is extremely horrible & involves child neglect/abuse.
Saw this link on my birth month board this AM:

(go about 1/2 way down the page to the "Triathletegirl" post...here are a few gems from what she said:
We, or I should say DH, let DS CIO for 8 hours one night. Yes, 8 hours. The next night he CIO for 1 1/2 hours, and the 3rd night about 45 mins. Now, he falls asleep before his head hits the crib. Not only did DH let me sleep in another room the first night we let DS CIO, he still puts him in his crib for me once I'm done nursing him.
Don't feel like a bad mom. Persevere. Let DS know who is the boss. This, too, shall pass.
GL, and get some ear plugs!!
What crazy biotch lets her baby CIO for 8 HOURS STRAIGHT @ 9 days old? Yeah she pretty much got ripped a new one. Wowza...that poor child. ![]()
Re: Warning - depressing. OMG, did you see the craziness on 3-6 yesterday?

::::waves hi to JDS::::
now I'm leaving
I had a little time so I went through and read it all.
Was it determined that she was just trying to stir up drama? Tried to post under an AE and then posted as herself? I would think that makes her lose any credibility.
Either way, I am just praying it didnt happen. Makes me sad.
Who in their right mind would let a child cry for 8 hours?????
WTF is wrong with people!
Yeah I'm not sure if they ever figured it out, but I agree - i hope it was just MUD & didn't happen.

I didn't read the link, but the highlights made me sick.
I was always one that never saw the big deal in CIO...until I had DS (not at 9 days old, mind you, but in general!) Now, I totally get how hard it must be for parents, and am not sure I have it in me to do it. Hopefully, DS will continue to be a good sleeper and I won't have to try it. :-(
I do hope that post was MUD.
