update: saw the pregnant SIL

Okay, I went straight to MIL's house first, which ended up being the best decision. It wasn't too long after we started talking before we were both in tears, but boy oh boy did it feel good to get that hug from her. We haven't seen any family face to face since it happened because we're so far away, so this was actually a pretty tender moment. I just needed to cry and hug it out with her and then I was good to go when by the time FIL came home, and fine when BIL and SIL, who is pregnant, showed up. I gave them all hugs and we just started catching up and she was so stinkin cute. I am proud of myself because when I saw her I felt nothing but joy for her and BIL. I also stayed at her house last night and I'm staying tonight as well. I saw the nursery (she could use some help decorating!) and I am going to her baby shower on Saturday. I was a little worried about the shower before, but those fears are gone now. What a relief!

I'm so happy to know everything went so well. Your MIL must be so nice! I don't think I have EVER hugged my MIL! lol Your visit seems like it was on a bit on the therapeutic side. I'm glad you found the strength to get through it.

You did great. You're very lucky to have such an understanding MIL. Sounds like if you need another break she'll be there for you this weekend too. Hope the rest of your stay goes just as well.
