Katie dialed 911.

We got a foot and a half of snow last night so daycare is closed and we're both working from home. We didn't even realize she'd gotten hold of my husband's Blackberry until it rang. When he answered it, it was the police! We have NO idea how she unlocked it or how she managed to dial 911.

I'm wondering, given all the snow out there, if they're going to send someone to check on us since I think they have to, right? My husband put on a pot of coffee just in case.

ETA: It's now been 2 hours and no sign of the police.

Hayden got a hold of my phone yesterday and somehow called DH's cell. I am glad we haven't had the 911 call yet. I am sure they will probably send someone to do a check. Be prepared for the "phone's aren't toys" lecture. Some police give that when they show up.

Woops! I wonder how, with so many different permutations of number combinations, so many toddlers end up doing that?

Been there, done that. I honestly dont know how they manage to get the correct numbers in the correct order. Luckily, they called back and ended up not coming out. I think they heard DS "talking" on the phone and realized it was just a toddler thing.

DH has responded to many toddler 911 calls, lol. It's one of those things, that they just never know when it's an accident or something's wrong.

I feel so bad. I don't want someone to schlep out here in the snow, but I understand that they don't know whether it's a real emergency. We will definitely be keeping the phones away from her!
