Trouble TTC

Ladies that take clomid...

I was wondering what was better... to take clomid days 3-7 or 5-9? I have heard from some ladies on here who say that there is more women who have success taking it days 3-7 instead of days 5-9.. My Doc says I can do it whichever days I want and we can adjust it if it doesnt help me to O.

what days do you guys take clomid?

Re: Ladies that take clomid...

  • My RE always has me take it CD3-7. The one cycle I did with an OB before I knew better, he had me take it CD5-9.

  • I took it days 3-7.  I think that is standard for my RE.  I have seen ladies say both time frames.

  • I am going to take it CD3-7 as I usually O on CD12.  The RE was originally going to have me do 5-9 until I spoke up about my early O date.

  • I took it 3-7 and never O'd. Instead I developed cysts all over both ovaries, so make sure they monitor you around your CD 11 or 12. GL!
  • My RE says it depends on why someone is on the Clomid.  For me, he said he prefers 5-9.  I think he said if they are trying to get someone to ovulate they go 5-9, if they are working with someone who ovulates on their own he goes 3-7.  Not really sure on his reasoning though.
