Success after IF

Does your toddler like to play in the snow?

Cal's not into it!  I thought for sure he'd love it - he LOVES playing outdoors every other season.  I don't know if it's b/c it's cold and wet or he doesn't quite know what to do with it, or what.  And he definitely does not like it if it's windy and there's snow blowing in his face.

This was true last year at age 1 and this year at age 2.  He was completely unenthused with sledding last year (being pulled around our yard) and only semi-enthused this year (sliding down a hill with Daddy).  Apparently he kept saying "no! no!" while they were going down the hill, but when they were done he said "more."

Ah well...I have to believe he'll grow to like it as he gets bigger and more capable of really playing in the snow!

Childhood cancer (DH) + chemo + radiation = 0 sperm.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!

  • D hates the snow suit if he could go out there without all the bulk he may like it, but the second I put the suit on he has a mini meltdown. He likes looking at it from inside, just like his mama lol

  • Katie does not mind getting all her snow gear on and she likes being outside as long as the show is not deep. She hates it if she can not walk so She walks up and down our shoveled driveway. She also has no interest in a sled.

  • Mark hated it, he kept saying "all done"  He did seem to like going down the hill with me on the sled but not enough to make it worth it.

  • Brady likes it as long as it isnt too deep. Nolan hates it, cries the whole time. We tried sledding last year and Brady hated it. We are going to try it again this year, but we just have too much out there right now. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we can try.
  • Hayden likes the snow as long as it isn't too deep. We have about 6-8 inches on the ground and he can't really walk well in it so he gets stuck and cries. HOwever when we have smaller amounts of snow (less than 3 or 4 inches) he likes it.

  • oh goodness yes. But she has no choice ;-)

we make forts, snowballs, dig, plow, sled, shovel, sprinkle salt, bury poop, "skate",  make tracks, follow animal tracks, kinda just how it is in MN.

  • ginny loves it! her new thing is making snow angels and I'm guessing she learned that in school. she's also a fan of being pulled on the sled around the yard (quite the workout for ME!) if the snow wasn't so light and fluffy, she'd be out there all afternoon making "more nomen."

  • DS hates it when it is falling and blowing in his face.  But today we went for a walk down the street and he seemed to enjoy it.  We live in the city, so we have no yard for him to play in, so it really was just walking along the sidewalks and sitting down in the deeper areas.

I am not sure if he would like a sled - I would have to take them both in the double stroller for about a half a mile to get to a hill, and since people hadn't shoveled the sidewalks yet, I wasn't about to try it today!
