Because there is nothing else to do in the late fall and winter when it is getting cold. (Most of my family is born in September).
Hehe... And yeah. My earliest memories of being pregnant involve snow and Christmas decorations. We were in Vancouver at the time and there was record breaking snowfall that winter, starting in early November.
Oh, and another big memory is getting my BFP on election day.
I got my BFP on "Black Friday" in 2008. On Thanksgiving, I thought I was PMSing because I was MAJORLY bitchy. I cried when my MIL said I had to wait to warm up some food (seriously). The next day, we went into NYC and met my college roomie. I kept feeling like I was going to get my period (pressure "down there") and felt "off". When we got home and no AF (rare for me, I was usually right on time) I took a pregnancy test?and the rest is history.
I got my BFP on November 1 and remember Thanksgiving being horrible. I couldn't eat and couldn't stand the thought or smell of food. And (TMI warning) I would have paid big $$$$ to just have a BM. Oh and I spent the weekend reading "What to expect" and FREAKING out by all of the information.
Re: S/O birthdays - or half birthdays
Hahaha, guess we had nothing better to do on Christmas! (S was born Sept. 28)

I would think the percentages prove that more babies are conceived in the winter months.. thus the August-October babies!
In my area, it's the end of military deployments that send all the mommies to the hospital nine months later!!
