Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Advise please: sick baby

So I was at work tonight and DH called to say that DD has projectile vomited a few times while trying to give her dinner(no new foods recently).  Then when it was time for her bottle after bath she drank it but when he went to lay her down she vomited all over him.  She has had a cold on and off since before Xmas and it's currently "on" again.  no fever, just a really stuffy/runny nose.  Any advise on what to do?  She's never done this before

  • My first child had the same problem around this age. If you have any pedialyte or gatorade in the house try to get some fluid down her when she calms down. More than likely its a bug that won't last long, and hopefully in the morning she will be able to keep fluids down. Taking her to the doc still won't hurt though ! I always took my kids even when they got a little sick =))) When my first son got diarrhea at 5 months old (it was bad), I took him to the doctor and they just said keep feeding him his bottle and some pedialyte if you can get him to drink it. If you can't get her to drink by morning then def. take her to the pediatrician !

  • This happened to my daughter and it turned out that she had an ear infection.  The doctors recommendation was to give pedialyte instead of milk to make sure she keeps it down.  2 ounces every 15 minutes.  They also said we could mix the pedialyte with oatmeal and give her bland type of food such as bananas.  I hope your baby feels better!
