Apparently they measured his height wrong at four months because he was almost an inch shorter this time?!? Funny because here we thought he was tall (90th percentile last time)l.. But really he's short (22nd percentile)! Oops!
That happened to Lucy at birth! They measured her an inch and a quarter longer than what she was at her 3 day post-birth appointment! Crazy! (Although I think it is hard to measure squished up little newborns, and it is equally hard now to measure wiggly little toddlers.)
And Lucy is a super shorty - 5th percentile for height

I thought this too but I forgot their heads are coneshape at birth. They probably lose a little height after the swelling goes down.
I think the height is always off- along with head size!!

It is the opposite of an exact science. It never fails that my peds office is at least a half an inch off of what the children's hospital measures him at. We got one round of measurements on Tuesday at the hospital and I can't wait to see how off they are when he goes in for his 4 month appointment next Tuesday at the ped.
