projectile vomiting (tmi sorry)

My poor little guy just projectile vomited (and I mean A LOT) everywhere. We were skyping with DH and DS was very quiet. He didn't really do much. He put his arms out for me so I picked him up and sat him on my lap to talk to DH and he just let it all go. He is also cutting 4 teeth as we speak. Is vomiting always associated with teething? This is the first time he's done this. I checked his temp and it's only 98?. He was falling asleep in his high chair so after the incident I brought him right to bed and he is sound asleep. Should I be overly concerned? I am a tad bit uneasy. TIA

Re: projectile vomiting (tmi sorry)

  • It's possible he may have a tummy bug. My LO does not vomit when cutting a tooth but I have learned anything is possible. I would just watch him and if he does it again try some Pedialyte to make sure he does not get dehydrated. I hope its nothing big and that he feels better soon.

  • Thanks for your help. Is pedialyte okay for a baby? How much would you give him? This is just precautionary incase I do need to give him some. Poor bugger :(
  • I have read others say that their pedis say to give a bit every 15 minutes to help decrease the dehydration. Increase it if he is tolerating it.
