So I used to sew many years ago in middle school and I was pretty good, but then I stopped. I am picking it up again and I have noticed I am having a really hard time sewing straight. Is there a trick to sew straight, or a way that I can make some kind of cheat guide that will help me until I get more practice?
I have made some homemade cloth wipes that would be really cute if the stitching were straight!
Re: Sewing Question
Does your machine have a speed setting? Some days when I'm not feeling confident I set the speed to slow and take my time.
Also make sure you're just guiding the fabric rather than pushing it through the machine.
Maybe just do some practice scraps until you get the hang of the correct pressure to put on the pedal?
GL!

I think I might be pushing it through actually instead of guiding it. I will try slowing the speed some too. I'm always afraid if I go to slow, I'm going to jam the thread or something. (I used to thread my sewing machine wrong when I was younger and the fear is still there)
I hope I get the hang of it soon. It's driving me crazy! lol
Check your feed dogs, too. Make sure you haven't dropped them.
