even with lots of room in a minivan/suv- you still might have issues if you keep them rear facing for a while - the AAP recommends rear facing up to 2y/o - if you haven't- do some research... the words "internal decapitation" convincedm e to keep them RF for 2 yrs
our britax rear facing takes up a LOT of room - so we had to get a combi Coccoro for one of the twins so we could still get past the rear facing seat on one side - i LOVE the combi - so easy to do the straps, comfy, etc. It won't last as long as the Britax weight/height wise- but it wasn't that expensive so when he grows out of it i will get a seat that can turn into a booster, which we'll need eventually anyway.
We have been most happy with Evenflo seats, and now all 4 of our kids use them. Our 2nd is in a Triumph Advanced and our twins are in Momentums. Love the design of both! LOVE the harness adjuster knobs on the Triumph... love the SureLatch feature on the Momentums, although they don't have the adjuster knobs like the Triumph.
