I went for a scheduled Dr apt yesterday and was really swollen and my BP was border line high ( 135/89). The Dr had the nurse check it again and then had her send me home. I have not had any problems with BP or swelling or too much weight gain thus far and i am 36 weeks.
I still feel really swollen since yesterday, and my hands/ feet hurt.
1.) when /would you go back to the dr
2.) other than drinking more water is there anything to do to decrease swelling ?
Re: swelling
with #1 I was swollen starting from 33w on. At 35w, I started my maternity leave and the doc put me on modified bedrest. I lost 7 lbs that first week of bedrest. 7 lbs of fluid. I could finally see my feet again - my feet, not the Fred Flinstone ones I'd been having.
Also, my BP was high with my first pregnancy the entire time. I was on meds 2x's a day. I had to monitor it at home 2x's a day. Laying on your left side helps lower your blood pressure
(surprisingly, my BP is fine (almost low) with #2, and I am not on the meds....also, so far no swelling yet)

1. I would call the doctor if the swelling suddenly gets drastically worse, like your feet wont fit into your loosest shoes or something.
2. I was going to suggest water. So no help there. I had some swelling a couple weeks ago, since then I upped my water intake and it seems to have gotten better. Maybe also cut back on salt, which can cause water retention.
Hope you feel better soon!
