  • most docs won't see you until 8-10 weeks (unless you have history of losses or IF)

  • Wait, back up a few steps.

    1) Are you spotting/bleeding/cramping?

    2) You are only 4 weeks, right? But you want an U/S & to hear the heartbeat? GL with that.

    3) You're having a girl?! I'm betting it was the pink glitter that poofed out of your vag at conception that tipped you off, right?

  • If you already don't feel comfortable with this doctors office you can change at any time. My doctors office always has a line I can leave a message on and they call me back.

No theres nothing wrong but when I last talked to him he said to call him as soon as I found out and he would make me an appointment which could be weeks after I called. and no i don't want a US now but we only have one US tech in our town hes very busy there is a very long wait (unless you have an emergency) so you have to get your name in early. and the girl thing hahaha very funny just wishful thinking

This is what you said. Makes it seem like you are wanting an US now, no?

Either way, you are 4 weeks pregnant. The doctor may be super-busy with ladies farther along than you, so you & your 4-week pregnancy probably isn't first priority on the call-back list, especially since you aren't having any problems. That being said, you SHOULD get called back. Otherwise, I'd be finding another doctor if I were you.

Calm down, take a deep breath. Please.

  • Not sure why people are being so mean with their responses. You are pregnant and excited and that's okay. It is definitely good that you get through to your doctor's office so, maybe you should try again tomorrow and then start looking for a new doctor. When I found out last time, I was 4 weeks and this time 5 weeks, my doctor gave me a blood test to confirm and then scheduled a prenatal visit for around 7 weeks and an exam/ultrasound at 11. You still have time so you can wait out for your office if you particularly like them or just move on.

    Good luck!

This, exactly! :-) BTW, congratulations on your pregnancy! and FYI, I frequently refer to my baby as "him" or "he" or "Tobi". It would be a little funny if I'm carrying a baby girl :-) Enjoy the next 8 months!

  • Ignore the snark, some people can be so rude. No one even picks up the phone at your doctor's office? Is it possible he is out of the office this week? If you have been trying to call since last week and still aren't getting a response it may be time to look for a new doctor. Rest assured, baby is ok, its a tiny little poppy seed making itself at home in your uterus. You probably won't get an u/s until you are 20 weeks which is the norm, unless you have had complicated pregnancies or start to have spotting and cramping. Congratulations! Enjoy the next 9 months.
