How terrible is it? Is it worth doing it? how long does it last and how bad does it hurt?!
Is there anything I can do to make it hurt less?
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF
It's been years, but I remember it hurting pretty bad in certain areas. You can take advil an hour or so before you go, but I'm not sure how much it'll help. They say that the 1st time is the worst, but if you keep up with it, it gets much easier. I only did it once (for wedding/honeymoon)

I have done it and have also done it myself , because it was so pricey and I had done bikini before. It is def easier to have it done, and honestly it didn't hurt that bad. If the technician is good she will have you help pull your skin tight, that is key to it not hurting as much, as is immediate pressure after each strip. Once I had it done, it is hard not to do it again, because it feels so 'clean'. I did leave a patch, so as not to be too bare (strip or V, once I think I did a design of a star or something for fun). It lasts for a few weeks but even longer than that it isn't so 'cumbersome', if you know what I mean. The key is also to not think about it until the time comes; the anticipation was worse than the reality. GL!
I have had them twice, and both were over 5 years ago. The first time hurt a lot, and the second time was much better (see below). I honestly can't remember how long it lasted so I can't really say if it was worth doing. But I have been thinking about doing it again to see if I like it (after I have the baby).
Yes, you can make sure they use the hard wax. I think that's the name of it but basically it's the wax that hardens and then gets pulled off with the hair. The other kind uses the cloth strips to remove the wax and that hurt sooooo much worse. HTH!

I personally think the most painful part is not the labia but the part that a normal bikini wax would cover (the groin? not sure what that part is called) like the sides. So to me no more painful than a regular bikini.
My hair grows really slow and I'm not terribly hairy, so 1x a month for me.
I know a lot of people that pop a tylenol before hand. I've also done sugaring, which hurts a lot less IMO.

The first time hurts the worst. I always take motrin before I go. Not sure if it really helps, but they did recommend it. I would say it lasts a few weeks before you start to get some regrowth. It's worth it to me, because I hate shaving. I also get my arm pits done

I get them pretty regularly during swimsuit season (not the full Brazilian, but close) and you do kinda get used to it. The worst part for me is that I tend to get ingrown hairs and those hurt like a b*tch when they are getting them out. Be good about exfoliating the area afterward so you won't have too many/any.

I am sitting here LOLing... These are words I never would have expected to see from you! Go MB! As for me, I have always been too chicken (and too anxious about the whole stranger up in my hooha part).
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.
I can handle regular bikini waxing, but a Brazilian was the worst pain of my life and I will never do it again. OUCH! I bit on a towel the entire time.

I did it once, for Valentine's Day a couple of years ago. It hurt, but the anticipation was worse. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but then I thought it would be pretty bad. But then again, to answer your last question, I had a Xanax left over from an IVF cycle that got cancelled, and that was my friend during the procedure.
I had one for my wedding and will never do one again. The pain was very intense for me... and I have a very high pain tolerence. I remember getting half way through and almost just getting up and calling it quits. I had to take lots of breaks to get through it lol. I personally don't think its worth it.

Went back to RE to TTC#2 and got a WONDERFUL surprise!! Baby #2 on their way!!
My Beautiful son Liam born Feb, 2011!!
I had one done at 35weeks that left me well groomed for delivery and a bit after. About 3 weeks with no need for shaving. Had I known the pain I would have taken a dose of Tylenol before. When I do it now I down 2 glasses of wine in 20 minutes :-) Well worth it though especially for vacations.
I have had it done several times and will be doing it again in a couple weeks for our vacation. The 1st time was the worst because I didn't know what to expect. The tech was awesome. She is the only one I've used so I feel more comfortable. She is very professional and relaxed. She now has a numbing cream she can use but being pregnant I don't want it to affect the baby. The pain isn't any worse then having your lip waxed. For me it was more about having a strange woman rip hair off my ya ya. I am over that now and she is awesome.
I personally love having it clean it's much more sanitary. I will do it again before going into labor.
Re: tell me about getting a brazillion
Awesome questions. I have been meaning to ask this. Can't wait to hear the responses.

May be a bit TMI, but you asked.
