So we had our consult for ttc #3 yesterday. I have to say, I fell in love with my RE all over again,
So a little background. I did 2 fresh cycles and 1 FET (embies didn't thaw) before switching to Cornell. At Cornell I did 2 fresh cycles to finally get the boys and we have our lone frozen embie.
Now the question is: Do I do an FET or another fresh cycle? FET would be easier and cheaper and he quoted me a success rate of 30%. If we do another fresh cycle and transferred 1 back, he thinks 40%, and 60% if we transfer 2 back.
I'm also hording 1200 units of follistim (prob 1/2 of what I need) - they are good until June this year. If we go for the FET route, these will be donated. Thoughts? WWYD?
Re: WWSAIFD?
I didnt do IVF so I may not know what I"m talking about but here are my thoughts.
My gut would be to do the FET first. There is a decent chance of it working, it's easier, costs less. Seems like a no-brainer but........
How much is the follistim worth? If it is a significant amount, I would want to use it and that could change my mind.

I would do a fresh in hopes of getting more frozen to put into the mix if it failed. I would have a hard time emotionally preparing myself for an FET with only 1 shot.

I wasn't OOP when I did my cycle that resulted in Brady but my RE thought it would be wise to do fresh cycle in hopes of getting more frozen ones in case that didn't work. Clearly it worked and I have some frozen still.
If it is money factor, I would consider the FET but if you are not concerned with the money I would go for fresh cycle!
COOL! say hi to dr d for me.
I'd say fresh only if you can handle the cycling with the twins. but, 30% is not too shabby (my chance for success was dismal.)
