Well, we?ve got a plan! My RE was leaning toward Clomid + IUI since the success rates are better than Clomid + TI and there?s only a $400 difference in price, but DH and I just aren?t there yet. So, Clomid + trigger + TI it is!
My RE said something that I thought was weird since I swear I?ve seen it on TB before. I am super nervous about Clomid since I get a lot of the Clomid s/e as part of my normal cycle anyway (sucky), so I asked about Femara. She said that Femara doesn?t work to superovulate (that?s what we?re doing since I O on my own). She will only use it for women who don?t O on their own. So, no Femara for me. If Clomid doesn?t work or I have a crappy lining with it, we will move straight to injectables after 3 cycles. Did anyone here who O?s on their own use Femara to superovulate?
So, I guess I?m trying to stay positive. I know that Clomid + TI doesn?t have the best success rate, but that?s where we are. I am nervous about what happens if the Clomid doesn?t work since DH is having a hard time with the thought of IUI. He feels it?s ?playing God? a little too much. I really really hope he comes around if we make it to that point. I don?t know what I?d do if he refused any more treatments.
So, I guess my plan from here on out is optimism, optimism, and more optimism ![]()

Re: Back from the RE and we have a plan! (long-ish)
Yeah for having a plan! Being positive can never hurt. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you that the clomid does the trick and that you don't experience too many bad s/e.
BTW - LOVE the LOLZ Cat!
Thank you
.
I love the pic too because I always seem to walk into my family room when my cat has his head stuck in a glass lol. You'd think one of us would learn by now (don't leave glasses on the coffee table....or, maybe don't stick your head in a glass!)

I don't take one single minute for granted.
Good luck! It always feels so much better to have a plan!
I ovulate on my own and I did a Femara cycle. I got 2 mature follies and 1 they thought might catch up. The IUI didn't work, but I have other issues.
Thanks ladies. If the Clomid doesn't work out, I might ask again about Femara before the injectables. Seems like a reasonable next step.
Blueyes: I remember being on TTGP shortly before you left. I don't know why, but yours is the only response to my intro that I remember. I think it's because you had that really nice pic of you and YH in your siggy. Funny, the things that stick out in your mind! I also remember your hilarious SJR glasses

My RE also mentioned that Femara is more likely to lead to a single mature follicle. But during our last cycle my lining was on the thin side at CD12, and she said if that happened on the next cycle too, we'd switch to Femara since you don't see that as much with that. And I ovulate just fine on my own.
I think it definitely makes sense to ask about Femara if you can't tolerate Clomid. It still stimulates ovulation, and personally I'd certainly want to give all the pills a chance before moving on to injectables. Good luck!
