Success after IF

Does the C-section "pooch" ever go away?

I have this awful pooch of skin that kind of hangs over my scar ( gross, I know- sorry).

I have been exercising and can tell that things are starting to tighten up in other areas, but this "pooch" for lack of a better word is just sitting there mocking me.

Does it ever go away?

  • I am below pre-pregnancy weight and mine is gone.  I did ab work like a mad woman from 8 weeks PP until Christmas.  I need to get back on the workout train.

I was afraid someone was going to tell me that I was going to have to work my abs REALLY hard. LOL.

    Sigh...

OK, I can do it.  I hate it though- even at my heaviest weights I have always had a flat belly.  This sucks.

  • Mine hasn't, but I haven't dieted at all or worked out.  Blah.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • My gal pals call it the "c section hang over"

Mine's still there a bit but it's definitely gotten better with time!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

  • I have no shame.  I just took this.  Here's my pooch, after almost a year.  One of these days I will exercise again, and stop eating so much cheese....  :(

  • Mine's not that bad BUT I worked hard to loose weight after the boys. I didn't go back to the gym until the boys were over a year but It was well worth it and I'm glad I put in the effort.

  • Thanks for this Smilee. My diet starts again on Monday, I look at the pooch and get so discouraged. I thought for sure it would never go away. Looks like it's time to boot camp!

okay you obviously don't know what we are talking about... you have no tummy!  Plus by the dinosaurs head is too high to be a c-section hangover (I'm already using that term) :)

I still have mine...I went below pre pregnancy weight and it was still there...BUT I wasn't doing ab workouts either...
