When did you get/plan to get LO's haircut?
O hair is really starting to get long. If you saw the videos on FB you can see how long it is in the front. The back is starting to creep over her shirt. We normally just kind of sweep the front over to the side and tuck the back in so it doesn't look like a mullet.
Re: those with girls - haircut?
I'm interested in hearing the answer to this too, Leah's hair is constantly in her eyes these days so I know we probably need to do something, poor kid.
I've always kind of figured that in order to let it grow out, it would have to go through an awkward stage like that. Will she let you put a clip in it to hold the front off to the side?
I think you could cut it whenever but then you're committing yourself to cutting it everytime it gets to that length. JMO.
And one of the kids at Annie's daycare wears a ponytail sticking straight up in the front. It looks a little silly, but it keeps the hair out of her eyes while she plays, and I think it's just temporary until it grows a little more.
We haven't yet, and I'm not sure when we will.
The front is definitely long and in her eyes if we don't pull it back. I really want it to get to the point where we can tuck it behind her ears and it'll stay.
But - the longer it gets, the curlier it gets - so I'm not sure what we're going to do with it!
I have thought about this too, just trying to get her bangs long enough that they end up being able to be tucked back. I can easily put a bow/clip/barrette in her hair but it ultimately falls out during the day when she is playing.
She will not let me even try to put a small pony tail holder in her hair, she acts like I'm trying to decapitate her! Anybody have a trick to that one??
This is bad, but I sit down with her on my lap and turn on Mickey or Elmo or something. It usually distracts her long enough for me to get her hair pulled back. I also let her play with the comb/brush and the bag of hair ties.
I do it while she's eating breakfast. She's so hungry, she'll let me do it while she eats. The bad part is that it always looks awful after her nap and she won't let me fix it. Use the tiny little rubber bands - they stay put better than the fabric ones.
LOL! From the recent pictures though she is for sure getting some more hair.
See she is just trying to make it easy on Mommy, less hair means all you have to do is wash and go
ITA - it's less work! She hates bath time enough as it is; not sure what I'd do if I had long hair to contend with.
It's definitely filling in! Here's the best shot I can find showing its growth:
This is us.....I think Evie and Ella are kindred spirits of the follically challenged kind.
Emma's is forever long so it's been cut a million and a half times. She had bangs while she was in her helmet but after that we let it grow out. We would use a barrette and just do it over and over again. She was okay with it. When it would go in a ponytail I would put one on the top of her head. She was good with that too. Now that it's long, it has to go back and she hates it. I still have to do it while eating breakfast or with my legs wrapped around her!
Aaaand my computer just got showered with spit out OJ. My IT department thanks you.
Luckily Maya's hair isn't growing as fast in the front as it is in the back so she is still just rocking a wicked awesome curly mullet and doesn't have the hair-in-the-eyes problem. I think I am being overly sensitive about cutting it but I'm just not ready yet.
