Does anyone have experience with leaking fluid? Does that mean technically your water broke but the baby is basically blocking it from gushing out? I remember reading that leaking is OK because you can create more. I'm leaking a very watery light milky looking discharge, which from what I read sounds like amniotic fluid. I have an appointment tomorrow, when I will be 38 weeks, so I'm not sure if I should call earlier with just a "leak" of fluid. I really wanted my water to break so I would know I was going into labor... instead of trying to figure out if my contractions were strong enough to call. As much as I don't want to stay home too long, I'm more nervous about calling for a false alarm. If your leaking amniotic fluid, does that mean I will never have that sensation of water "breaking"??
Re: Leaking Fluid?
White milky discharge (no scent) is normal vaginal discharge. AF is thin like urine and like pp said gushes more when sitting up or standing (movement). If you have to keep changing your underware because they won't stay dry, then it is more likely to be AF. You can always bring it up at next appt, but it doesn't sound like its your AF.
And yes, if you are trickling you should contact your OB/MW, and a gush could still happen even if your leaking, but it would take a shift of baby or you to release the pressure on the hole in the AB. (This happened with DS1, hole (small drip/gush) appeared after visit with MW, but gushed on stepping onto my threshold when we got home, but there wasn't much time (1hr) that had elasped from opening of AB and the gush).
