Recommend a good photobook website

An acquaintence of ours made a sort of yearbook for their daughter after she turned one.  It was a beautiful hard cover photobook full of photos of her throughout her first year.  I think she made it through a website and then had it printed.  She was able to have colorful backgrounds and I think even some words and titles.  I think she said she spent around $60 for it, which seems reasonable to me.  I can't remember how many pages it was.  Has anyone here made something similar?  Can you recommend a good company/website?  I'd really love it if it's the kind of thing you can work on throughout the year and then have printed at the end.  That way I could also start work on my newborn son's book and it wouldn't be such a huge task at his birthday.

  • I've used picaboo and they are awesome!  The book is terrific and shipped sooo fast. Hard cover and "magazine" like pages.

  • Shutterfly.  Hands-down.  And for an 8"x8" hardcover, it's only $30.  And they're on sale right now for 30% off.

I've made several of these books over the years, and I love.love.love them.  I cannot say enough good things about Shutterfly. :)

  • ditto Picaboo, I've done books through them, shutterfly, and Kodak.  Picaboo is definitely the easiest to use... you don't upload each individual pic to the website, instead you create the book on your desktop and upload only the completed book.  Saves you a lot of time when you're creating the book.  They often have 40% off specials too
  • Tons of places do this now. My favorite is Blurb.com.

I haven't tried them but I've heard Costco has a nice hardcover book as well.
