DD can stand in her crib holding onto the top of it, its on the lowest setting. When she goes down for naps/night time she usually protests by standing and crying. Well she has recently started gnawing on the top bar of the crib (front and side). She is scraping the finish off and when she wakes up there are little brown flecks all over her face. There is a plastic guard on the front but she chews underneath it.
How can I get her to stop gnawing the crib or what can I put on it so she can't scrape the finish off. I've thought about a narrow piece of fabric wrapped around bs fastened securely but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

I was just at BRU this weekend and they had a number of options that go across the top part of the crib. I'm not sure if that's what you're describing, but it's worth a shot.
