again, i'm so sorry for your losses. i wish you had more babies in your arms than in heaven. your boys are so cute!
i hope you don't mind me asking you this question, and if you don't want to answer i totally understand.
do you know why you had so many losses? did you have chromosome testing or b/w done to see if there was a problem?
i just had my second loss and i am waiting for the results of the chromo testing to come in. i will also be getting b/w done in a few wks. i hope to learn why i m/c'd very soon. i'm just trying to learn the various reasons for recurrent m/c's.
i hope and pray that we both get pg very soon and have healthy babies.

Re: ~~xnbride~~
Gosh, I wish I knew. I have been seeking out that answer for quite some time now. I have no idea. I had RPL testing after my 3rd loss and it came back clear. I am not sure how intrusive or extensive the testing was and I wonder if maybe it missed something. I think I am going to request my medical records at my next appt. I feel like my former OB office left me in the dark alot of the times, which is why I do so much research on my own.
During my TTC and pregnancy with DS2 I did do all the empirical treatments: baby aspirin, extra folic acid, progesterone suppositories up till week 12. However I didn't do anything differently with DS1 so who knows.
I guess maybe I will never know. But I was thinking about the statistics (based on my history) and I have a 25% chance of having a successful pregnancy. When I think of it that way, it gets a bit depressing.
I will see what my midwife has to say at my appt on friday (which was supposed to be my 7w ultrasound) after I tell her that I can add yet another notch to my belt. Ugh, I just don't get it.

i don't get it either. you're getting pg, which is good, but your having trouble staying pg, like me. have you seen an RE or fertility doctor? did you have chromosome testing done on the fetal tissue?
let me know how your appt goes. i hope you find answers soon. i'm praying for you.
((hugs))
we didn't find out i was having a m/c until we were at the u/s appt. we never got to hear a HB w/ either pregnancy. there was a gestational sac and i think a yolk sac, but no HB. i didnt bleed or have cramping at all.
thanks for this link. i will definately check it out. i like going to the doctor with some knowledge of what's going on or at least w/ questions about things i''ve read.
No, never seen an RE. Probably won't either. Even if they did have some sort of answer for me, it really wouldn't change the course of treatment. And we will not pursue IUI, IVF etc. as it is too expensive so there really wouldn't be much of a point. I think it would just make me feel even more powerless and frustrated.
I thought that my very first loss was sent for chromosomal testing but then the OB later said that it was too deteriorated or something. I am not sure. I just never really sought it out. All the rest of my losses I passed at home. Most were too early. My other later loss (8w) I did have part of the baby but decided to bury it instead.

blighted ovums/anembryonic pregnancies like you experienced tend to be more indicative of chromosomal issues. It is odd that you have had two in a row though. However, there was another bumpie Heidisean who also had two BO back to back, and I think her RPL testing came out normal too. She recently gave birth to her second child (the pregnancy after the two blighted ovums). Sometimes it is simply bad luck and there are no answers. She did take progesterone but I am not sure if she did anything other than that.
Anyways you can page her as well. She is often on the parenting boards and on PAL too.

my doctor called my losses missed m/c's. Heidisean's story gives me hope.
I hope we both experienced our last loss. thank you for sharing your story and giving me extra info!
::goes to research new terms xnbride used:: lol!
